Tomorrow (November 1), Cong Thuong Newspaper will organize a seminar on "Preventing evasion of trade defense measures, maintaining sustainable export flows of goods".
Vietnam is an open economy , has been negotiating and signing many important Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), opening up great opportunities for exports. However, along with the growth of export turnover in recent times, Vietnam's export goods continue to face many investigations and application of trade defense measures by foreign countries, especially investigations against evasion of trade defense measures.
Up to now, Vietnam's export goods have faced 257 trade defense investigations from 24 markets and territories. Of these, there are 141 anti-dumping investigations, 37 anti-circumvention investigations, 27 anti-subsidy investigations and 52 self-defense investigations. The nature of the investigations tends to be more stringent, and the risk of facing risks for Vietnam's export goods is very high.
In the context of countries stepping up protection of domestic production, the risk of being investigated for trade defense in general and for anti-circumvention of trade defense measures in particular is always present when Vietnamese goods increase their export turnover. Therefore, to maintain a sustainable flow of goods exports, improving the capacity to handle anti-circumvention of trade defense investigations from foreign markets is extremely important.
To clarify this issue, tomorrow morning (November 1), Cong Thuong Newspaper will organize a Dialogue and Policy Program with the topic: " Preventing evasion of trade defense measures, maintaining sustainable export flows of goods" .
