
Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Retailers (AVR) Nguyen Anh Duc emphasized that in the coming period, the Association of Vietnamese Retailers wishes to create a breakthrough in development, be a common home for businesses in the Vietnamese distribution-retail system and represent the legitimate rights and interests of businesses in the distribution-retail sector. Thereby, building a civilized, modern, deeply integrated, sustainably developed Vietnamese retail industry, making a strong breakthrough for a green economy - green consumption, contributing positively to the development of the country's economy.
Reporting at the Congress, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Lan, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Retailers Association, said that over the past 5 years, overcoming many difficulties, the Association has implemented many practical activities; including expanding the network to 111 members, admitting 47 new enterprises. The Association has promoted its role as a policy bridge, participating in giving opinions, criticism and proposing many policies related to trade, tax, retail, digital transformation, international integration, etc.
In addition, the Association has connected with the Federation of Asia -Pacific Retail Associations, domestic and foreign industry associations, promoted trade in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, China, Malaysia, Brazil, etc.; expanded the distribution system, strongly developed all types of trade, especially in rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas, helping people access and shop with modern and civilized retail models.
The members of the Association have actively participated in programs to stabilize the market, promote trade, stimulate consumption, etc., contributing many achievements to economic recovery and development. Member enterprises have also contributed 25 billion VND to charity and social security work.
During the 2025-2030 term, the Association aims to continue affirming its role as a bridge between the State - Enterprises - Consumers; promote participation in building and reviewing policies on retail, e-commerce, logistics, etc. At the same time, promote digital transformation, apply green technology; Develop commercial infrastructure, expand modern retail networks to rural, mountainous and island areas; Strengthen international cooperation, develop domestic markets, promote trade, support and facilitate business connections to bring goods into modern distribution systems, creating sustainable consumption channels.
The Association also actively combines development with social responsibility, enhances consumer confidence, ensures maximum consumer benefits, actively participates in social activities, social security programs, etc.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Association for the 4th term; Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Lan was elected as President of the Vietnam Retailers Association for the 2025-2030 term.
