
Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of the Vietnam Retailers Association (AVR) Nguyen Anh Duc emphasized that in the coming period, the Vietnam Retailers Association aims to create a breakthrough in development, serving as a common home for businesses in Vietnam's distribution and retail system and representing the legitimate rights and interests of businesses in the distribution and retail sector. Through this, the association seeks to build a civilized, modern, deeply integrated, and sustainably developing Vietnamese retail industry, making strong breakthroughs towards a green economy and green consumption, and contributing positively to the development of the national economy.
Reporting at the Congress, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Lan, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Retailers Association, stated that over the past five years, overcoming numerous difficulties, the Association has implemented many practical activities; including expanding its network to 111 members and admitting 47 new businesses. The Association has played a key role as a policy bridge, participating in providing feedback, critique, and recommendations on many policies related to trade, taxation, retail, digital transformation, and international integration…
In addition, the Association has connected with the Federation of Asian -Pacific Retail Associations, domestic and foreign industry associations, and promoted trade in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, China, Malaysia, Brazil, etc.; expanding the distribution system and strongly developing various forms of commerce, especially in rural, mountainous, and remote areas, helping people access and shop through modern and civilized retail models.
Members of the Association have actively participated in market stabilization programs, trade promotion, and consumer stimulus, contributing significantly to economic recovery and development. Member businesses have also contributed 25 billion VND to charitable and social welfare activities.
During the 2025-2030 term, the Association aims to continue affirming its role as a bridge between the State, businesses, and consumers; to promote participation in the development and critical review of policies on retail, e-commerce, and logistics; to promote digital transformation and the application of green technologies; to develop commercial infrastructure and expand the modern retail network to rural, mountainous, and island areas; to strengthen international cooperation, develop the domestic market, promote trade, and support the connection of businesses to bring goods into modern distribution systems, creating a sustainable consumption channel.
The association also actively links development with social responsibility, enhances consumer confidence, ensures maximum protection of consumer rights, and actively participates in social activities and social welfare programs.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Association for the fourth term; Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Lan was elected as the President of the Vietnam Retailers Association for the term 2025-2030.
