General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the efforts of contractors and construction units to complete many construction items, ensuring the schedule. With the strong determination of the Government, the Committees, Ministries, investors and construction units, the construction progress of Long Thanh Airport - Phase 1 will strive to be inaugurated to meet technical flights before December 19, 2025; and put the Project into operation and commercial exploitation in the first half of 2026.

General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the strategic significance of the Long Thanh International Airport project is very important to the development of the entire Southeast region. This is not simply an aviation infrastructure project, but a national key project, invested with a very large design capacity for transporting people and goods. When completed, it will put Vietnam in the group of leading countries with international aviation transport centers, not only in Southeast Asia but also in the Asia- Pacific region.

General Secretary To Lam requested ministries, branches, localities and units to urgently complete the project on schedule, put it into operation according to the set plan. Implement traffic connection projects with Long Thanh airport to make the travel time from the airport to the city center as fast and convenient as possible. The General Secretary also requested to urgently continue implementing phase 2 of the project, so that Long Thanh airport will soon become a destination and priority choice for international airlines.
