Deputy Director of Nguyen Dinh Chieu Library presents awards to elementary school contestants.
The Reading Culture Ambassador Contest, organized annually by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aims to ignite a passion for reading among students. Through this, it encourages and promotes reading among young people, making a significant contribution to the development of reading culture in schools and communities.
The preliminary round of the 2025 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in Ben Tre province was organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with the participation of students of all levels throughout the province, submitting 584 entries, including 8 videos.
According to the judges' assessment, participating students made appropriate book choices and closely followed the questions posed by the organizers to write book reviews and create book review videos . Many entries were of high quality, well-written, and contributed to spreading a reading culture. Contestants chose diverse methods of expression besides writing, such as drawing, videos, and using technological software, all of which were of good quality.
The judging panel evaluated the entries and selected 34 individual winners. Among them, Tran Dinh Khoi (a 5th-grade student from Tan Phong Primary School) won first prize at the primary school level, Nguyen Tram Anh (a 7th-grade student from My An Secondary School) won first prize at the secondary school level, Nguyen Ngoc Tuyen (a 10th-grade student from Doan Thi Diem High School) won second prize at the high school level (no first prize awarded), and Cu Chi Linh (Ben Tre College) won first prize at the college/university level.
In addition, Phu My Primary School and Nguyen Van Tu Secondary School won the team award for having the most participating students, while Doan Thi Diem High School also won the award for having the most participating students. The organizing committee also awarded three other special prizes to contestants: Best Short Story Promoting Reading, Most Impressive Video Entry, and Most Impressive Essay Entry. Six entries were selected to participate in the Reading Culture Ambassador competition organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
