On August 6th, the Traffic Police Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police announced that the eastern part of the province is currently entering the peak tourist season, leading to the emergence of various services and recreational activities related to island and coastal tourism . Therefore, some individuals are spontaneously purchasing canoes to provide services, transporting tourists on tours to nearby islands, posing potential risks to traffic safety on waterways.
Following the directives of the Traffic Police Department and the Director of the Dak Lak Provincial Police regarding the comprehensive inspection and handling of commercial transport vehicles on roads and waterways, and to improve the effectiveness of handling violations according to Government Decree No. 139/2021/ND-CP dated December 31, 2021, the Traffic Police Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police will organize a comprehensive inspection and review of tourist transport activities in Vung Ro Bay (Hon Nua) in Hoa Xuan commune; Xuan Dai Bay in Xuan Dai and Song Cau wards; Truong Beach (Mai Nha islet) in O Loan commune; Long Thuy beach (Hon Chua) in Binh Kien ward… in order to disseminate and publicize legal regulations on waterway traffic safety.
At the same time, promptly remind and correct vessels, ship owners, and tourists to comply with legal regulations on inland waterway traffic safety; organize for owners of floating rafts, ships, boats, and vehicle operators to sign commitments to comply with legal regulations on inland waterway traffic safety and order.
In addition, the traffic police force has intensified patrols, inspections, and strict handling of violations on waterways with a spirit of upholding the law and the motto "no forbidden zones, no exceptions".
According to the plan, the peak period will last until August 25, 2025.
