French President successfully concludes State visit to Vietnam

The President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace is a special national relic, where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked in the last 15 years of his life (1954 - 1969). This is not only a place to preserve relics and artifacts associated with the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, but also a sacred destination for compatriots and international friends. Since 1970, the Relic Site has welcomed more than 90 million visitors, including over 15 million international visitors from more than 165 countries and territories.

In particular, the Stilt House is where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked for 11 years (from May 1958 to August 1969) and together with the Politburo made many important decisions for the country.

The two leaders also planted a friendship tree at the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site.

On the afternoon of May 26, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with French President Emmanuel Macron during his State visit to Vietnam.

The French President appreciated the role of the Vietnamese National Assembly in strengthening the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with France; proposed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries' parliaments, especially in facilitating the ratification of bilateral agreements and treaties.

Regarding parliamentary cooperation, the two sides highly appreciated the close relationship between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the French Parliament, which has actively contributed to strengthening the Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; agreed to maintain delegation exchanges, especially between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the French Parliament, and between the Vietnam-France Friendship Parliamentarians' Groups, an important bridge in promoting mutual understanding and sharing legislative experience; and to strengthen close coordination at forums such as the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF), within the framework of Francophone parliamentary cooperation.

The National Assembly Chairman suggested that the two sides strengthen cooperation in areas such as green economy, digital economy, high technology, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, smart cities, agriculture, local cooperation, and tripartite cooperation between Vietnam, France and southern countries.

The French President highly appreciated the role of the Vietnamese National Assembly in strengthening the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with France; proposed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries' parliaments, especially in facilitating the ratification of bilateral agreements and treaties. In response to the proposal of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, President Macron said that he would direct relevant agencies to promptly complete procedures to ratify the Investment Protection Agreement between the European Union and Vietnam (EVIPA); acknowledged Vietnam's efforts in overcoming the IUU yellow card and would discuss with the EC about considering the early removal of the IUU yellow card for Vietnam's seafood exports.

On the evening of May 26, at the International Convention Center, Hanoi, President Luong Cuong and his wife hosted a solemn state reception for French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife.

After attending the state banquet, French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron took a walk in Hanoi's Old Quarter. The French leader walked around Trang Tien, Hang Khay, Nha Chung streets and interacted with the people.
