Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang: UAE is an important economic partner and a sincere and trustworthy friend of Vietnam.

In his opening speech, UAE Ambassador to Vietnam Bader Almatrooshi emphasized that today's event aims to honor the Middle Eastern country's impressive development journey - a journey that began with a clear vision and steadfast will.

“The united federation has become a model of people-centered development and construction, shaping a strong present and laying a solid foundation for the future,” said Ambassador Almatrooshi.

Besides, the Ambassador affirmed that over the past decades, the UAE has witnessed strong transformation in many fields, from economic diversification to space exploration, clean energy and artificial intelligence.

Joining the G20, becoming a member of BRICS and expanding the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) are also testaments to the UAE's active and constructive presence on the international stage.

The diplomat also expressed his delight at the good relationship between Vietnam and the UAE. Accordingly, bilateral trade turnover has increased by 50% in the 2023-2024 period, reaching 12 billion USD. Particularly, Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports to the UAE by the end of the third quarter of 2025 increased by 49% compared to the same period last year.

Ambassador Almatrooshi stated that the good relationship between the UAE and Vietnam is being strongly supported by both the government and the private sector, aiming to realize the strategic vision of the two countries' leaders in the future.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang sent her most sincere congratulations to Ambassador Bader Almatrooshi and all UAE friends working and living in Vietnam on this important occasion.

“The outstanding achievements that the UAE has achieved over the past 54 years, under the leadership of President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with its pioneering efforts in economic diversification, innovation, artificial intelligence, clean energy and sustainable development, have not only created a strong transformation for the UAE but also become an important source of inspiration for countries like Vietnam, especially in the context of current economic transformation and development,” the Deputy Minister affirmed.

In addition, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang believes that the achievements in recent times will continue to strengthen the close friendship and relations between Vietnam and the UAE. According to the Deputy Minister, bilateral relations are increasingly deepening thanks to increased political trust and strategic understanding consolidated through more than 50 visits at all levels in 2024.

Economic cooperation also continues to expand strongly, with the UAE remaining Vietnam's leading economic partner and largest export market in the region.

“The UAE is not only an important economic partner but also a sincere and trustworthy friend of Vietnam, sharing common aspirations for peace, cooperation and prosperity. Cooperation activities have never been as dynamic, substantive and extensive as they are today, across all areas from trade, investment, defense, security to people-to-people exchange,” the Deputy Minister added.

Within the framework of the event, guests had the opportunity to look back on the 54-year journey of formation and development of the Gulf country; enjoy the Al-Ayyala folk art performance, a popular and unique performing art form recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, performed by a team of Vietnamese students.

In addition, the UAE Embassy in Vietnam also introduced a video recording the beauty of the S-shaped country through the lens of artists from the Middle Eastern country. The activities at the ceremony demonstrated the spirit of cultural exchange and friendship between the people of the two countries.

The ceremony took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere; thereby contributing to enhancing understanding and connection, as well as opening up expectations for an increasingly deep, effective and sustainable cooperation path between Vietnam and the UAE in the coming time.
