Attending the conference were Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the City National Assembly Delegation Le Truong Luu; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong and comrades in the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee.

The emulation movement “The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses” is a major policy, with profound political , social and humane significance. The Prime Minister has repeatedly directed strongly, requiring localities to mobilize all resources, soon complete the goal, contribute to improving people's lives, ensuring social security, and sustainable development.

In Hue , in the period of 2021 - 2024, all levels, sectors, armed forces and people have promoted the tradition of solidarity, the spirit of "mutual love and support", supporting the construction and repair of houses for 6,778 policy households, poor and near-poor households with a total budget of more than 350 billion VND from the central and local budgets and other legal sources.

Implementing the direction of the Government and the guidance of the Ministry of Construction , the City Party Committee and People's Committee have reviewed and approved the implementation of the 2025 program with 1,170 houses: including 503 houses for people with meritorious services, 325 houses under the national target program for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas, 342 houses for poor, near-poor households and other difficult circumstances. By August 12, 2025, Hue City had completed the work of supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, with a total of 1,170 houses, reaching 100% of the plan.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives with outstanding achievements in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.

To achieve that result, immediately after the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch 102 and Directive 42 on accelerating the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, the Hue City Party Committee established a Steering Committee and launched the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025".

The entire political system has joined in with the motto “The Party leads, the State manages, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations support, and the people are the masters”, while promoting the spirit of “mutual love and support”. Many businesses, organizations and individuals not only provided financial support but also directly participated in labor days and provided construction materials, contributing to speeding up the progress and completing the program ahead of schedule.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Truong Luu said that the success of the program lies not only in the numbers, but also in the spread of the spirit of community responsibility, the harmonious coordination between levels, sectors and localities. However, over time, it will be difficult to avoid the emergence of more temporary and dilapidated houses.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Truong Luu suggested that all levels, sectors and localities continue to promote the humanistic meaning of the movement to eliminate temporary houses, associated with the tradition of solidarity, the spirit of "sharing food and clothes" of the nation and the beauty of Hue culture; focus on removing difficulties in housing construction, especially issues related to land and planning; at the same time, research and supplement policies to support vocational training, job creation, credit loans, access to healthcare and education.

Local Party committees and authorities need to arouse the spirit of self-reliance, guide people to maintain and preserve their beautiful houses; at the same time, manage and settle capital sources transparently and in accordance with regulations. Continue to promote the role of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations in mobilizing social resources, accompanying poor and near-poor households, and policy families to stabilize their housing, feel secure in production, and gradually escape poverty sustainably.

At the conference, the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the city awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the City People's Committee to 8 groups and 12 individuals with outstanding achievements in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.
