On the afternoon of August 25, the Steering Committee for the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Hue City held a summary of the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the city, thereby marking the completion of the goal of supporting housing for poor and near-poor households, policy families and disadvantaged people in the area in 2025.

The solid house of the ethnic minority people in the old mountainous district of A Luoi (Hue) was built from the temporary house elimination program.

According to the Steering Committee, the emulation movement " The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" was strongly directed by the Prime Minister , requiring localities to mobilize maximum resources, contributing to improving people's lives, ensuring social security and sustainable development.

In Hue, in the period of 2021-2024, all levels, sectors, armed forces and people joined hands to support the construction and repair of 6,778 houses for poor, near-poor households and policy families, with a total budget of more than 350 billion VND from the central and local budgets and many other legal sources.

In 2025, implementing the direction of the Government and the guidance of the Ministry of Construction , the Hue City Party Committee and People's Committee approved a program to support 1,170 houses, including 503 houses for people with meritorious services, 325 houses under the National Target Program for ethnic minority and mountainous areas, and 342 houses for poor, near-poor households and other difficult circumstances.

By mid-August 2025, all 1,170 houses had been completed, achieving 100% of the plan. According to Hue City Party Secretary Le Truong Luu, the results of the program are not only measured by the number of completed houses, but also demonstrate the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, community responsibility and the cooperation of the whole society.

Mr. Luu noted that in the coming time, it will still be difficult to avoid the emergence of more temporary and dilapidated houses; therefore, local authorities and sectors need to continue to promote and arouse the spirit of "sharing food and clothes", remove difficulties in land and planning in housing construction, and at the same time supplement support policies on careers, employment, credit, health care and education for people.

Grassroots levels need to guide people to maintain and preserve their houses sustainably; manage and use capital transparently and in accordance with regulations. The Fatherland Front and organizations continue to mobilize social resources, accompany poor and near-poor households, and policy families, helping people stabilize their housing, feel secure in production, and strive to escape poverty sustainably.
