Bat Tien tea is a tea variety imported from Taiwan and crossbred with local tea varieties to help the tea plant adapt easily to our country's climate. After being tested and expanded to tea regions in Phu Tho , thanks to soil and climate factors, the plant grows and develops well and has its own unique flavor that cannot be found anywhere else.

Tea is a strong crop in Long Coc commune.

Bat Tien Long Coc tea tree has a medium trunk, upright branches, sparse branch density. The leaves are light green with clear serrations, medium length, slightly pointed tips, dry tea leaves are small and curly, with lots of white hairs. Young tea buds are light purple, with little snow. 4 - 5 year old tea trees have an average canopy width of more than 1m. Bat Tien tea has smaller and firmer tea stems than other types of tea, the tea leaves also have white hairs on the tips but the density is not as much as Shan Tuyet tea.

Green tea water, aroma, all three flavors of bitterness, astringency and sweetness are present and blended together in a moderate way, making it easier to drink than other traditional tea varieties. In addition, Bat Tien tea also has the characteristic of being brewed with a lot of water (about 3-4 waters). With a refreshing taste, aroma, light astringency, sweet aftertaste, and the effect of making a refreshing drink, Bat Tien tea is loved by many people.

Previously, Bat Tien tea was picked by hand and roasted in cast iron pans, so the productivity and quality were not high. Because an average person, if picking tea by hand, could only pick about 2-3 kg of fresh tea a day, and after roasting, could only get about 500 grams of dry tea. Not only that, roasting in a pan is often prone to smoke, losing the aroma of the tea. Many cast iron pans are oxidized after a long time and if not replaced promptly, it will affect the quality of the finished tea.

Nowadays, Bat Tien Long Coc tea is produced according to advanced production lines combined with traditional methods, creating a perfect product in both quality and design, so it is increasingly favored by customers near and far.

Long Coc Safe Tea Production Cooperative has 4 products that meet OCOP standards, including Long Coc Premium Bat Tien Tea and Bat Tien Dinh Tea, both of which have achieved 4-star OCOP standards.

Ms. Pham Thi Hanh - Director of Long Coc Safe Tea Production Cooperative said: The Cooperative currently has 15 members, growing 16 hectares of tea according to VietGAP standards, including 7 hectares of Bat Tien tea, the rest are tea varieties such as San Tuyet, Huong Bac Son, Phuc Van Tien and Kim Tuyen. To improve the quality of the Cooperative's tea products in general and Bat Tien tea in particular, in addition to growing and caring for tea trees according to VietGAP standards, the Cooperative also pays special attention to the production and processing process of tea until the finished product. Specifically, after being picked, the tea buds will be dried to drain the water. Next, they are put into a high-temperature rotating cage to kill the yeast and then put into a rolling machine to shape the tea leaves and reduce the astringency of the tea. After rolling, the tea is put into the first dry roasting process. When it reaches a certain dryness, it is sifted to remove the tea bran and then dried for the second time to enhance the aroma of the tea. When roasting, special attention must be paid to keeping the heat low and roasting evenly so that the tea is delicious and does not burn...

Thanks to that, the tea products of Long Coc Safe Tea Production Cooperative are always highly appreciated by customers. Currently, the Cooperative has 4 products ranked OCOP, of which 3 products are ranked 4 stars: Long Coc Premium Bat Tien Tea, Bat Tien Dinh Tea and Special Dinh Tea. In the first 6 months of this year, the Cooperative has produced over 4 tons of tea, with revenue reaching over 800 million VND.

It can be seen that the tea trees in Long Coc, after absorbing the quintessence of heaven and earth, have become increasingly green, becoming a crop that is closely associated with and brings economic value to the local people. Among them, the Bat Tien tea variety has become a famous brand known to many people.
