Organic raw material area

Located at the foot of Chieu Lau Thi mountain, the Shan Tuyet tea area in Ho Thau commune has long been known as the "green treasure" of the mountains and forests in the West of Tuyen Quang province. From that treasure, Ho Thau Tea Cooperative has researched and applied new harvesting and processing techniques to production, building the brand of specialty Shan Tuyet tea.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Dung, Director of Ho Thau Tea Cooperative, received the Gold Award certificate at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Tea Competition.

Ho Thau Tea Cooperative was established in 2015. From a traditional production model, heavily dependent on folk experience, the Cooperative gradually changed its natural production mindset and applied science and technology to rebuild the method of managing raw material areas and processing processes. What makes the Ho Thau tea brand different is the way they treat ancient tea trees. Currently, the Cooperative has 2 main raw material areas including: a dynamic conservation raw material area of 12 hectares. Here, for the past 7 years, the Cooperative has consistently pursued a non-cutting exploitation model, allowing Shan Tuyet tea trees to grow completely naturally under the forest canopy, without any mechanical care measures, creating conditions for the tea trees to balance their ecology, expand their canopy, and develop taproots - the decisive factor in the content of tea buds.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Dung, Director of Ho Thau Tea Cooperative, shared: Thanks to the completely manual harvesting process and strict adherence to techniques (only picking a maximum of twice a year), the tea trees are allowed to “rest” and regenerate their energy, thereby producing tea products with a distinctive flavor, imbued with the richness of the mountains and forests. Although the yield is only 1/10 compared to the traditional harvesting method, the value per kilogram of tea has increased many times.
In parallel with the dynamic conservation raw material area, the Cooperative has a 350-hectare raw material area that has been granted Vietnam Organic certification and an international growing area code, which is an important condition for Ho Thau products to enter markets requiring high standards.

International quality

Not only changing the farming model, Ho Thau Tea Cooperative also focuses on investing in a production factory according to HACCP standards, completely eliminating the technology of using coal and firewood to switch to clean energy such as electricity, gas, and diesel. The factory is 500 m2 wide with more than 1,500 m2 of drying and withering space to ensure the processing process is always closed, safe and stable.

With the orientation of focusing on producing high-quality tea products, Ho Thau Tea Cooperative only focuses on 3 main product lines: Black tea, White tea and raw Pu-erh tea. Each year, the Cooperative brings to the market about 3-4 tons of finished tea products to supply to high-end tea store chains in major provinces and cities across the country.

From the preservation method, the standard and closed product exploitation and processing process, Ho Thau Cooperative's tea products have begun to make their mark on the world tea map. In 2024, at the Golden Leaf Awards international tea competition in Australia, Ho Thau Cooperative's tea products won 1 Gold Award for Black Tea and 1 Silver Award for Raw Pu-erh Tea. In 2025, at the Asia Pacific Tea Competition held in China - the prestigious "arena" of the regional tea industry, Ho Thau Cooperative's tea products continued to be honored with 2 Gold Awards for White Tea and Raw Pu-erh Tea.

In the white mist of Chieu Lau Thi mountain, the ancient tea trees still leisurely spread their shade, continuing their hundreds of years old story, bringing the Ho Thau tea brand with the flavor of Tuyen Quang mountains and forests to international friends.
