Speaking at the opening of the Writing Camp, Colonel, writer Nguyen Binh Phuong - Vice President of the Vietnam Writers Association, Editor-in-Chief of the Army Literature Magazine suggested many good ideas, many creative directions, many new topics on revolutionary war and soldiers, especially soldiers in peacetime. “As a magazine of the armed forces, Army Literature and Arts especially prioritizes the topic of revolutionary war and the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers, in combat and in production. Writing about the topic of war is not only to repay the past, not only to record the real experiences of those involved, not to stop at glorifying oreducating traditions, but at the present stage, with an open and objective spirit, through war, we seek to discover, dissect, and identify the nature, spirit, character, and dignity of the Vietnamese people, so that we can stand firm in the present and move towards the future in a dignified manner, without losing direction. This is the most profound aspect that Army Literature and Arts hopes that collaborators will exploit when writing about the topic of revolutionary war and soldiers,” writer Nguyen Binh Phuong emphasized.
During 10 days, writers, poets, and critics inside and outside the military went into the field, met and exchanged, inspired creativity, sublimated emotions, and created many works that were good in content, beautiful in language and expressive art. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of the Army Literature Magazine, meeting the increasing reading needs of soldiers and the reading public.
