Over 37 billion VND to implement clean water supply and water resources management project in Cam Lo district

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province issued a decision approving the master plan for implementing the Clean Water Supply and Water Resources Management project in three communes of Cam Chinh, Cam Nghia, and Cam Tuyen (Cam Lo district), using capital from the Vietnam - Italy Debt Conversion Agreement with a total investment of over 37 billion VND.

The project aims to ensure the management and conservation of water resources, effectively use water resources as well as meet the demand for clean water quality and improve the quality of life for people in 3 communes: Cam Chinh, Cam Nghia, Cam Tuyen, contributing to socio-economic development in the project area.

At the same time, ensure domestic water supply meets QCVN (National Technical Regulation); ensure domestic water supply for 100% of rural households, complete clean water criteria in new rural construction.

The project will implement 2 components, of which component 1 (Water resources management program) includes the following contents: Implementing a propaganda and mobilization program to limit the exploitation and use of groundwater in 3 communes; conducting a count of the quantity and calculating the current exploitation flow of dug wells and drilled wells; registering the use of existing groundwater wells and organizing control and licensing for new exploitation to completely end the spontaneous drilling and exploitation of groundwater sources.

Component 2 (Construction items): Construction of a clean water supply system in Cam Chinh and Cam Nghia communes with a capacity of 2,000 ^m3 /day and night and the ability to upgrade the capacity to 4,000 ^m3 /day and night.
