On the morning of September 16, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Lam Dong about proactively responding to the low pressure area in the East Sea that is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression.

According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, currently, a low pressure area is operating in the eastern sea area of ​​the Central East Sea.

At 7:00 a.m. on September 16, the center of the low pressure area was at about 13.2 - 14.2 degrees North latitude; 115.0 - 116.0 degrees East longitude, in the central area of ​​the East Sea.

Forecast in the next 24 hours, the low pressure area will move in the West-West direction.
North, traveling about 10km per hour and has the potential to strengthen into a tropical depression.

Due to the influence of the low pressure circulation, which is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression, the Central East Sea area will have heavy showers and thunderstorms, winds gradually increasing to level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 8, waves 2.0 - 3.0 m high, rough seas. Ships operating in the above sea area should take precautions to ensure safety.

To proactively respond to low pressure areas that are likely to strengthen into tropical depressions, the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense recommends that provinces and cities closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of low pressure areas that are likely to strengthen into tropical depressions; notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur.

Prepare forces and means to deploy rescue work when there is a situation. Be on duty seriously and regularly report to the National Civil Defense Steering Committee (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
