Exhibition of Vietnam's Sea and Island Cultural Heritage in 2023

Within the framework of the Street Culture Week of the National Tourism Year 2023 " Binh Thuan - Green Convergence", the exhibition "Cultural Heritage of Vietnam's Seas and Islands" will take place on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Phan Thiet City from August 27 to September 3.

This event is organized by the Vietnam Exhibition Center for Culture and Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in coordination with the following provinces/cities: Hai Phong, Bac Giang , Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Kien Giang, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau.

With 270 images and artifacts introduced, the exhibition of Vietnam's sea and island cultural heritage aims to promote and honor the values of tangible and intangible cultural heritage and unique tourism products of Vietnam's sea and islands; contribute to affirming the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland; at the same time, strengthen education on revolutionary traditions, further enhance patriotism, national pride, and sense of responsibility for the homeland's sea and islands.

The exhibition of Vietnam's sea and island cultural heritage is organized with activities such as: Exhibition of the general exhibition area with the theme: Vietnam's sea and island cultural heritage; Building and protecting Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty; Exhibition of art photos of Vietnam's sea and island; Vietnamese youth with the homeland's sea and island. The exhibition area is divided into 4 main contents: Documents and artifacts on Vietnam's sea and island culture in history; display of ancient maps, Han - Nom documents, Nguyen Dynasty's royal records on Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa; images and souvenirs of the unnumbered ship, Ho Chi Minh trail at sea.

With the exhibition space of Cultural Heritage Colors, Sea and Islands, 22 coastal provinces/cities participating in the exhibition will introduce typical cultural colors, cultural heritages, nature, typical landscapes, daily life of residents associated with the sea and islands of each locality and tourist destinations that tourists love. At the same time, introduce and promote tourism potential, eco-tourism products, sustainable sea tourism associated with the cultural heritage values of the locality, through models, artifacts, images, videos, installation art, publications, costumes, art performances, cuisine, local specialties and demonstrations of traditional crafts at the exhibition area, and exchange with artisans.

In addition, there are also traditional folk art and cultural exchange programs, introducing many types of intangible cultural heritage, street art performances to help people and tourists better understand the beauty of each region of Vietnam. Performances honoring intangible cultural heritages are performed such as Quan Ho folk songs (Bac Giang), Bai Choi (Phu Yen, Binh Dinh), Xam singing (Ninh Binh), dry puppetry (Hai Phong); special performances with the theme "Towards the beloved sea and islands" performed by art troupes from Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan provinces; and street art performances by mass art troupes from Hanoi...
