This year's exhibition, themed "Peace, Friendship, Cooperation and Development," is taking place at Gia Lam Airport. It is one of the key activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day.

At the exhibition, domestic and international defense enterprises will showcase and introduce combat vehicles, technological solutions, weapons, and equipment used by the Navy, Army, Air Defense - Air Force, cyber warfare, and logistical and technical equipment. Vietnamese products on display at the exhibition include those researched and manufactured by agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense and its trade and service companies.

Speaking with a VietNamNet reporter, Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, said that this international defense exhibition is of great importance to the Vietnam Coast Guard.

Through the exhibition, the Vietnam Coast Guard will gain a visual and vivid understanding of defense products, and an objective assessment of the capabilities of domestic defense industry units, which have produced and manufactured a great deal of technical equipment for the Vietnam Coast Guard over the years.

Approximately two-thirds of the Vietnam Coast Guard's current fleet of vessels were newly built at factories under the General Department of Defense Industry.

The presence of defense products from major defense powers provides an opportunity for the Vietnam Coast Guard to study and learn about advanced defense products and modern technological solutions suitable for the functions and tasks of the Vietnam Coast Guard.

Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai cited examples of patrol boats, support vessels, unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned reconnaissance boats, and other reconnaissance and observation equipment.

From there, a plan will be proposed and reported to the Ministry of National Defence to select suitable products, choose appropriate channels for procurement cooperation, and acquire and transfer appropriate technology to produce technical and logistical equipment to meet the needs of the Vietnam Coast Guard in particular, and the Vietnam People's Army in general, in the immediate and long-term future.

In addition, Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai stated that studying defense products at this exhibition also serves as a basis for the Vietnam Coast Guard to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to propose and report to the Ministry of National Defense on implementing "orders" to the General Department of Defense Industry for the design and manufacture of advanced and modern defense products to meet the requirements of the current situation.
