France is ready to provide Vietnam with technological support, while the UK could cooperate to help Vietnam develop its defense modernization capabilities.
At the second Vietnam International Defence Exhibition, French Ambassador Olivier Brochet stated that this was his first time attending the exhibition and he was particularly impressed with the organization, the large number of participating businesses, and the quality of the products on display.
Many leading French defense companies participated in the exhibition, including Thales, Airbus, Défense Conseil International, KNDS, Lacroix, RTSYS, Deschamps, Exosens, Dassault Systèmes, Safran, and others.
He assessed that this year's exhibition was larger in scale, attracting participation from more countries and businesses, which shows that the exhibition is receiving a lot of attention and reflects the good relations between Vietnam and other countries.
The ambassador was impressed with the performances at the opening ceremony, noting that Vietnam had successfully promoted its cultural image to the world .

He shared: “Vietnam’s strength comes from its people, from the entire nation, through events where Vietnam has affirmed its potential in building and defending the country. This exhibition will create opportunities for Vietnam to strengthen its defense industry capabilities, thereby enhancing its ability to protect national sovereignty .”
The French diplomat was also impressed with Vietnam's defense industry during his visit to the Viettel booth. He believes that Vietnam has many more opportunities and potential for further development.
Vietnam has many opportunities to expand and improve its defense industry. The products and technologies displayed at the exhibition demonstrate the strong development of Vietnam's defense industry.
Regarding defense cooperation, the Ambassador stated that France is one of the leading exporters in the military sector. France and its defense companies are ready to cooperate with Vietnam in production and technology transfer.
For many years, France has maintained a policy of complete self-reliance in defense technology. He stated that France would like to cooperate with Vietnam in this field if Vietnam so desires.
The ambassador emphasized: "We cooperate not just in the spirit of selling military products, but in the spirit of building partnerships."

The presence of French defense companies and government agencies at the event was not only to fulfill contracts, but also because Paris wanted to further strengthen and consolidate its comprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam.
The two countries upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during General Secretary To Lam's visit to France in October. Olivier Brochet stated that French businesses wish to contribute to strengthening this relationship, not only through modern products and technologies showcased at the exhibition but also by supporting Vietnam in enhancing its defense industry capabilities.
In addition, the two countries have many potential areas of cooperation such as aviation, high-speed trains, innovation, higher education, research and development, etc., in which France is actively working with Vietnamese partners.
"Following this exhibition, we will continue to exchange information with Vietnamese authorities to prepare for the upcoming visit of a high-ranking French leader to Vietnam," the French Ambassador said.
At the British Embassy's booth, the UK Government's Defence and Security Envoy, Mark Lancaster, stated: "We have carefully studied Vietnam's Defence White Paper, which includes the goal of modernizing the military by 2030. Vietnam also wants to diversify its partnerships in the defence industry. The UK is committed to supporting both of these initiatives."
According to Mark Lancaster, realizing the modernization of the defense sector requires three elements: equipment, policy, and training. "The British government is pleased to be able to cooperate to help Vietnam develop advanced capabilities, supporting its modernization goals," he said.
He believes Vietnam can contribute to a free and open Indo-Pacific region where all countries can benefit from economic growth.
Commenting on the organization of the celebration and exhibition, he said he had witnessed the pride and professionalism of Vietnam...
Vice Admiral Angus Topshee, Commander of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces, shared his impressions of attending the opening of the exhibition, which attracted significant attention from military leaders of many countries.
"The exhibition showcased a wide variety of military equipment from many countries that I had never seen at other defense exhibitions," said Angus Topshee.

Canada has extensive experience in training UN peacekeeping forces, particularly female soldiers. Angus Topshee stated, "Canada is ready to share this experience in training our soldiers, and we also look forward to learning from Vietnam regarding training methods."
The Royal Canadian Navy ship Montreal made a goodwill visit to Vietnam in August, demonstrating Canada's commitment to promoting security and stability in the region by deepening and further strengthening Canada's cooperation with the Indo-Pacific region, including Vietnam.
Canada is very keen to welcome Vietnamese naval officers to Canada to learn about and witness firsthand the training and expertise, and "we will also share with Vietnam information about military equipment...".
