Including 59 oil and watercolor paintings by overseas Vietnamese artist Dao Trong Ly, done from 2018 to 2024 in Thailand.
The late painter Dao Trong Ly's deep love and respect is expressed through a delicate painting language, based on historical documents and inspired by Uncle Ho's moral example.
His paintings have a realistic, simple and intimate style, focusing on expressing Uncle Ho's benevolent demeanor, bright eyes and gentle smile.

Instead of just focusing on the image of a great leader, he also portrayed Uncle Ho in everyday moments such as reading the newspaper, working or talking to children. The color scheme he used was often gentle and warm, creating a sense of closeness.
The highlight in many works of the late painter Dao Trong Ly is Uncle Ho's eyes and smile, expressing intelligence, kindness and tolerance.
In addition, some paintings are also propaganda, associated with historical events to spread revolutionary spirit and educate the younger generation.

In addition, the exhibition offers a special perspective through 21 propaganda paintings, most of which were created during the period 1969-1980.
The image of President Ho Chi Minh appears throughout the works, becoming an endless source of inspiration to celebrate the country's major holidays such as National Day September 2, Uncle Ho's birthday May 19 and Southern Liberation Day April 30.
The propaganda paintings impress with their distinctive graphic language, with concise and condensed shapes; using basic but strong color tones, sometimes emphasizing lines, sometimes focusing on shapes.
The richness and liveliness of each work not only conveys political messages but is also rich in aesthetic value.

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Nguyen Anh Minh - Director of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum - said: "I feel very happy and honored to contribute a small part to the event celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
I was particularly impressed by the paintings depicting Uncle Ho’s simple moments: when he sat reading the newspaper, studying diligently, taking care of his garden, or chatting intimately with his compatriots and soldiers. This is also different from previous exhibitions.
The exhibition "Ho Chi Minh - Portrait of a Man" is an opportunity for today's and future generations to remember and express deep gratitude for the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, and to understand more about his simple life and great revolutionary career.
