Zhao Wei mourns female writer Quynh Dao

Actress Zhao Wei expressed her condolences to writer Qiong Yao on Weibo after her passing at the age of 86. This is the actress's first move after 3 years of "hiding" on social media.

"The Yangtze River flows to the East. The white-capped waves carry heroes. Prosperity and decline, success and failure follow the flow. The once-mighty empire suddenly becomes empty-handed. Zhao Wei posted a tribute to female writer Quynh Dao - the person who helped her achieve part of her success today.

Zhao Wei's lines come from the poem Lin Jiang Xian by the Ming Dynasty poet Yang Shen, China. They are also the opening lines of the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong.

The poem with the line "bao do anh chieu ta" is also the name of a famous novel by Quynh Dao. The work was adapted into a movie, starring Tan Han and Luu Tuyet Hoa.

In particular, Princess Pearl is considered a classic television series and a "treasure" of Chinese cinema. Thanks to this film, Zhao Wei, Ruby Lin, Su You Peng,... suddenly became stars.
