According to information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, the Investigation Police Agency of Yen Dinh District Police has just initiated a case, prosecuted the accused and temporarily detained Do Cong Luong (born 2006), residing in Yen Tam Commune, Yen Dinh District, for theft of property.

On November 4, 2024, Mr. Trinh Dinh H. (born in 1973), residing in Yen Lac commune, Yen Dinh district, opened an account at Sacombank Yen Dinh branch and installed the banking application on his phone.

Because he did not know how to set up biometrics on the phone application, Mr. H. asked Do Cong Luong (a colleague at the same company) to do it for him. Because Mr. H.'s phone did not support biometrics, Luong downloaded the Sacombank Pay application to his phone and logged into Mr. H.'s Sacombank account to set it up.

After Luong finished installing biometrics, Mr. H. logged into the Sacombank bank account application on his phone, but was unable to do so and his account was locked.

On the morning of November 5, 2024, Mr. H. came to the company and asked Luong to log into his bank account on his phone. After logging in, the bank sent an OTP code to Mr. H.'s phone number, so Luong asked for the OTP code to check again.

When Mr. H. gave the OTP code to Luong, the subject successfully logged into the cardholder's bank account on Luong's phone.

Discovering that there was 240 million VND in Mr. H's account, Luong's greed arose and he had the intention of appropriating it.

On November 5 and 6, 2024, Luong continuously transferred money 4 times from Mr. H.'s Sacombank account to his own account, with a total amount of 132 million VND.

Because he could not log into his account and transfer money, on the afternoon of November 6, Mr. H. went to Sacombank Yen Dinh Branch to check and discovered that 132 million VND had been lost. The bank immediately locked Mr. H.'s account and reported it to the police.

The incident was exposed. On the evening of November 6, Do Cong Luong went to the police station to confess his crime and hand over all the money he had stolen.
