In the 2021-2025 academic year, Ha Long University has 1,947 students in 13 training majors. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which poses unprecedented challenges in all socio -economic fields, Ha Long University has quickly changed its state to adapt, without interrupting teaching and learning activities. Along with online teaching, the school has taken advantage of the time to send students to participate in 46 internships at more than 60 businesses. Notably, the entire course had 17 students participating in the exchange program in Korea; 110 students conducted scientific research, with 109 graduation theses of high application value; 36 students were admitted to the Party during their studies; 16 excellent new bachelors continued to study for a Master's degree at Ha Long University; nearly 200 students received recruitment decisions from businesses before the graduation ceremony...
This not only affirms the quality of the school's training, but also demonstrates the close connection between theory and practice, between education and the needs of the labor market. This is an important resource to provide human resources for the socio-economic development of Quang Ninh province and neighboring areas.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony and awarding of the first batch of 2025 of Ha Long University, comrade Nguyen Van Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that in the draft Political Report of the Provincial Party Committee submitted to the 16th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, the goal is set: "Building Quang Ninh rich, civilized, modern, happy, becoming a centrally-run city before 2030, by 2045 being one of the important economic locomotives of the country, confident, steadfast, advancing strongly in the new era of development". To successfully implement that development goal, we request that the collective of cadres, lecturers, civil servants and employees of Ha Long University carry out well the goals and tasks in the University Development Project to 2030, with a vision to 2035. At the same time, we affirm that Quang Ninh province will always accompany and commit to creating a favorable environment for students of Ha Long University to study, start a business, innovate and develop.
To meet the increasingly high demands of the new development era, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee especially emphasized the task of focusing on developing the team, opening new training majors according to the province's orientation such as semiconductor industry, logistics, artificial intelligence, foreign trade economics...; improving training quality, affirming the brand with key majors that are the strengths of the school; improving research capacity and transferring science and technology, promoting start-up activities, innovation in schools and students; maximizing the application of digital technology in school administration and teaching; strengthening cooperation with prestigious universities at home and abroad to build and develop advanced training programs that meet regional and international standards...
In addition, Ha Long University needs to continue to maintain stability and solidarity within the organization, promote the leadership role of the Party Committee, the University Council and the management role of the Board of Directors, focus on building a team of qualified lecturers according to regulations, meeting the training scale. Ensure the proportion of lecturers with doctoral degrees, increase the number of lecturers with the titles of Associate Professor and Professor.
At the same time, strive to be the leading unit in implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo "on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation". Accordingly, it is necessary to innovate the school's governance model according to the digital university model, manage and operate the school's teaching and learning activities based on information technology and digital transformation platforms; build digital databases, develop information technology infrastructure; put the school in the top group of universities in digital transformation. Promote the role of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation to truly arouse passion and entrepreneurial spirit in students.
Along with that, Ha Long University needs to pay attention to ideological education, political ethics, and lifestyle among students. Do a good job of orientation and propaganda for students, promote the role of clubs, create a healthy playground, and attract students. Do a good job of training and recruiting students into the Party. Build Ha Long University into an educational symbol of the province, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals set by the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
At the graduation ceremony, Ha Long University awarded diplomas to nearly 1,000 students who were eligible to graduate in the first batch of 2025 and honored outstanding students of the entire course. In the 2021-2025 school year, 86% of Ha Long University students graduated with good grades or higher, of which 16% achieved good and excellent grades.
