On July 5, the University of Science and Technology, University of Danang celebrated its 50th anniversary. Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Ngo Dong Hai, representatives of local authorities in the Central Highlands and Central regions, businesses, partner organizations, and staff, tutors, and students of the school through many generations.

The level of internationalization is promoted

After 50 years of construction and development, Danang University of Technology has become a key technical university in the Central region and the whole country, with 14 faculties, 9 functional units, 11 research and training centers; a scale of nearly 18,000 students and trainees, and a team of 546 staff members, of which 74.4% of tutors have doctoral degrees - among the highest in the country.

Nearly 1,000 delegates, guests, generations of lecturers, staff and students participated in the ceremony celebrating the school's 50th anniversary.

The school pioneered in opening 11 new key majors such as Artificial Intelligence, Microelectronics - Microchip Design, Logistics, High-speed Railway Construction... along with master's and doctoral programs to meet new development requirements. The rate of students having jobs after graduation reached over 97%.

Danang University of Technology meets HCERES standards for the second cycle. The school has 26 undergraduate training programs and 4 master's training programs that meet international standards. The school has established relationships with more than 100 international universities and research institutes, and has extensive cooperation with many large corporations.

Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son congratulated and commended the outstanding achievements that the school has achieved over the years in many fields, from training to quality assessment, scientific research, technology transfer, international cooperation, staff development and investment in facilities.

According to the Deputy Minister, with the fourth industrial, achievements in science and technology, digital transformation, green economy, revolution economy, knowledge economy, geopolitical circular fluctuations are directly impacting and rapidly changing all areas of life and reshaping the educational ecosystem worldwide. Our country is facing the opportunity for breakthrough development, entering a new era to achieve two 100-year goals.

In that context, higher education is not only a place to train human resources, high-quality human resources and talents, but also a center of innovation, a place to create new knowledge and solutions to serve the development of the country, each region and locality.

"The University of Science and Technology, University of Danang needs to build a model of an innovative university associated with the Central Highlands region so that the school can become a knowledge center, promote regional connectivity, and provide scientific and technological solutions for key industries such as industry, renewable energy, digital technology, environment, and smart cities.

Especially in the new period, the school needs to maintain and promote core values, build a humane, creative, responsible university culture, and closely connect the school, students, businesses and the community" - the Deputy Minister emphasized.

Within the framework of the ceremony, many groups and individuals were honored to receive awards from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Director of Danang University and the school's Principal.

On this occasion, the University of Science and Technology, University of Danang inaugurated the National Key Laboratory for Mechatronics and Applications. This is a project invested by the Ministry of Education and Training with a budget of 40 billion VND. The system includes specialized laboratories: Robotics, IoT, Materials Science - Molds - Simulation Design, along with an open space connecting students - tutors - businesses.

The project's objective is to improve the capacity of human resource training and scientific research in the field of Mechatronics to serve the country's industrial production. At the same time, promote the policy of sharing experimental and practical equipment to attract and promote linkages between businesses, research institutes, universities, and support organizations in applied research and innovation activities.
