In the atmosphere of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), at many schools from kindergarten to university in Ho Chi Minh City, thousands of students wore red flags with yellow stars, joining in the festive atmosphere and turning everyday moments at school into something special.
Some schools also set up “national check-in corners” with the background of the red flag with yellow star, Vietnam map or image of Uncle Ho – attracting many students to take souvenir photos.
On social networks, the hashtags #ILoveVietnam, #RedCoatWithYellowStar, #CheckinHolidaySeason... are appearing frequently with a series of brilliant photos from students everywhere.
The bustling atmosphere does not stop at "virtual living". Many schools combine wearing flag shirts with historical storytelling, showing documentaries, making cards to honor heroes and martyrs... Turning each check-in into a learning session, each photo into a way to spread the spirit of patriotism in a modern and close way.
Below are photos of red flags with yellow stars flying all over schools in Ho Chi Minh City:
