The head of the Quang Ngai City Department of Education was rumored to have received money to "buy school places" and requested the police to intervene.

On the afternoon of September 4th, speaking with a reporter from Dan Viet newspaper, Nguyen Van Hung, Head of the Education and Training Department of Quang Ngai City, said that for unknown reasons, over the past few days, some account holders on Facebook have spread and shared information claiming that he received money to help secure school placements in Quang Ngai City.

According to information provided by Nguyen Van Hung, Head of the Education and Training Department of Quang Ngai City, a social media account holder shared content stating, "To secure a place at Nguyen Nghiem Secondary School, parents must pay 30 million VND or more to Mr. Hung, Quang Ngai City Education and Training Department."

Regarding the content that allegedly insulted personal reputation and negatively impacted the education sector in Quang Ngai City, the Head of the Education and Training Department of Quang Ngai City, Nguyen Van Hung, stated that he had reported the matter to the leaders of several functional agencies in the province and Quang Ngai City, requesting verification, clarification, and strict handling in accordance with the law.

Specifically, Mr. Hung reported to the leaders of the Internal Political Security Department of the Provincial Police; the leaders of the Quang Ngai City Police; and the Inspectorate of the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Ngai province.

Later that same day, according to a private source of Dan Viet newspaper, preliminary verification revealed that the original post on Facebook belonged to an account holder located abroad.

And then, some account holders who are from Quang Ngai province shared this content.
