Singer Tung Duong proudly shared with international friends: "I am very proud to be the first Vietnamese artist to receive a major award. Today is also a new beginning for my music career. Having the opportunity to interact and meet famous artists from Japan and other Asian countries, I have learned firsthand the good things in the meticulous organization, the sophistication in every detail, the uniqueness and specialness from the Japanese. This award is a source of positive energy for me to have more material for my music, from which I will have more quality music products to serve the domestic audience."
More surprisingly, Tung Duong chose the chorus of "A Round of Vietnam" (composed by Dong Thien Duc) to sing loudly to end his sharing, receiving long applause from the audience attending the award ceremony.
The Japan Music Awards (Music Awards Japan) was established in 2024 by the Japan Cultural and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy , Trade and Industry (METI).
The awards have more than 60 categories voted by the Artistic Council and the audience. The Artistic Council consists of more than 5,000 experts including singers, producers, record label employees, critics, journalists, publishers and international judges.
In particular, the "International Special Awards" category selects influential artists from different countries, aiming to promote musical connections between Japan and some Asian countries.
