The friendly match between the Vietnam Women's Team and SV Werder Bremen Women's Club is jointly organized by the German Embassy in Hanoi and the Vietnam Football Federation and will be free of charge for spectators.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany (September 23, 1975 - September 23, 2025) , a special friendly match between the Vietnam Women's Football Team and SV Werder Bremen Women's Football Club will take place at 7:00 p.m. on May 16 at Hang Day Stadium, Hanoi .

The event is co-organized by the German Embassy in Hanoi and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the match will have free admission for spectators.

The Vietnam Women's National Team is currently preparing for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualifiers. The match against a quality opponent like Werder Bremen is an opportunity for the players to gain valuable experience and enhance the team's fighting spirit.

"The friendly match creates conditions for Vietnamese players to demonstrate their abilities and continue to develop, while also creating conditions for fans to have the opportunity to cheer on the National Team at home," emphasized Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

SV Werder Bremen is the first German Women's Football Team to come to Vietnam. This is an important step in Werder Bremen's internationalization strategy and emphasizes Vietnam as an important partner market.

In addition to promoting women's football, the German team wants to build strong relationships through cultural exchanges, social activities and youth work.

"With this trip, Bremen wants to send a strong signal to promote International Women's Football. It is a great opportunity to build cultural bridges, to use football as a connecting factor and to increase international recognition for Werder Bremen. We are delighted to be the first German club to take this step. The Werder Bremen women's players are the perfect ambassadors to take this step and to convey the values ​​of our club to the world in a genuine way," said Clemens Fritz, Managing Director of Football at Werder Bremen.

In addition to the match, the Werder Bremen delegation, together with Directors Klaus Filbry and Clemens Fritz, will visit schools and community organisations, youth football movements and attend other cultural programmes during their stay. Through this, Werder Bremen will continue its strong efforts in the fields of training and sustainable development./.
