The friendly match between the Vietnam women's national team and Werder Bremen women's club will take place on May 16th at Hang Day Stadium and will be broadcast live on VFF Channel andFPT Play.
This event is held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.
At the same time, the match also demonstrates the active preparation of Vietnamese women's football before the 2026 Asian Women's Championship qualifiers. In particular, competing with a traditional German team like Werder Bremen promises to bring valuable experiences to the whole team.
Werder Bremen Women's Club competes in the Frauen-Bundesliga, one of the top women's football leagues in Europe and the world. The team is based in the city of Bremen and is known for its modern and technically sound style of play.

With a squad comprising many talented young players and a wealth of international experience, Werder Bremen will be a formidable opponent for the Vietnamese women's national team.
Previously, the Vietnamese women's national team narrowly lost 1-2 to the German women's national team in a friendly match preparing for the 2023 Women's World Cup.
Sharing about the friendly match with Werder Bremen women's club, Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) general secretary Nguyen Van Phu said: "VFF always strives to create maximum conditions for the team to have the opportunity to compete with quality opponents, thereby helping the players accumulate more experience and improve their competitive spirit."
"For our players, this trip is another great highlight in their careers after the cup final on May 1. We are looking forward to a top match with the Vietnamese women's team and are very excited about this trip," said Clemens Fritz, Werder Bremen's football director.
The Vietnamese women's national team will assemble on May 6th at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi) with 25 players. Under the guidance of coach Mai Duc Chung, the Vietnamese women's team will have 10 days to prepare for a friendly match against Werder Bremen women's club.
Previously, it was scheduled that on May 12th, the Vietnamese women's national team would have a friendly match with the Ho Chi Minh City women's club, which was currently training in Hanoi .
Concluding the first phase of their first training camp in 2025, the Vietnamese women's national team will travel to Japan for a training camp from June 8th to 18th.
Following this overseas training camp, the Vietnamese women's national team will move to Viet Tri ( Phu Tho province ) to continue training and compete in the Group E qualifying round of the 2026 Asian Women's Championship, which will take place there from June 29 to July 5.
