Propagating traffic laws through mock trials for children

(DN) - On the morning of May 11, Dong Nai Children's House, Bien Hoa City Youth Union and the Community Law Consulting and Teaching Team (University of Economics and Law, Ho Chi Minh City National University) coordinated to organize a mock trial to disseminate traffic laws to team members and children.

Over 100 team members and children from Quyet Thang Secondary School, Tan Buu Secondary School (Bien Hoa city) and clubs, teams and specialized groups of Dong Nai Children's House watched the mock trial.

The mock trial reenacted a trial involving illegal racing that caused a traffic accident and left the victim with serious injuries. In addition to helping team members and children visualize the trial process in court, the mock trial helped team members and children learn about the punishment for illegal racing.

From there, draw experiences for yourself in the process of participating in traffic, contributing to raising awareness of law compliance among young people. After the mock trial, the Organizing Committee propagated and popularized the law to children through further analysis of the details in the mock case.

Mr. Truong Hai Thi, Director of Dong Nai Children's House, said that the mock trial is a new activity of the legal playground to propagate and popularize the law to team members and children through specific legal situations. The legal playground is chaired by Dong Nai Children's House in coordination with other units to be implemented from 2024 with forms such as: legal playground gameshow, legal Q&A, online contest to learn about the law, etc.

Through these activities, the Organizing Committee hopes to provide children with a playground; at the same time, propagate, disseminate and raise awareness of law compliance among young people.

It is expected that after the mock trial related to traffic law, this coming summer, Dong Nai Children's House will continue to coordinate with other units to organize mock trials related to preventing and combating school violence.
