Propaganda to mobilize people to participate in voluntary social insurance and health insurance

On October 18, Thanh Hoa Provincial Social Insurance (SSI) coordinated with the Provincial Post Office to organize a launching ceremony to propagate and mobilize people to participate in voluntary social insurance and health insurance (HI) in the wards of Hac Thanh, Ham Rong, Nguyet Vien, Dong Son, Dong Tien and Dong Quang.

With the goal of having more and more people and workers access the social insurance and health insurance policies of the Party and the State, in recent times, the Provincial Social Insurance and the Provincial Post Office have coordinated effectively, synchronously and creatively in propaganda activities, mobilizing people to participate in social insurance and health insurance. The number of people participating in social insurance and health insurance in the province has always increased, each year higher than the previous year.

By the end of September 2025, the whole province had 573,229 people participating in social insurance (of which 106,932 people participated in voluntary social insurance) and 3,319,601 people participated in health insurance (513,558 people participated in family health insurance).

The health insurance coverage rate of the whole province reached 88.19% of the population. In the 6 wards selected for the launch, there are currently 9,420 people participating in voluntary social insurance (accounting for 8.8% of the whole province) and 86,997 people participating in household health insurance (accounting for 17% of the whole province).

Mr. Vu Nguyen Hiep, Deputy Director of Thanh Hoa Provincial Social Insurance: "This campaign has an important meaning, aiming to propagate and spread social insurance and health insurance policies to all classes of people; encourage people to participate, towards the goal of social insurance for workers - universal health insurance, contributing to ensuring sustainable social security in the province".

This is a practical activity responding to the "sprint" emulation movement in collecting and developing social insurance and health insurance participants in 2025 launched by Vietnam Social Security, aiming to complete the assigned targets of the year.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, mobile propaganda teams marched on main roads, then divided into small groups to residential areas, markets, shopping centers, and community living areas to advise and guide people on benefits, contribution levels, and methods of participating in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance, and introduce new points of social insurance and health insurance policies.

Officers and employees of the two sectors also focused on propaganda and guidance on the use of Citizen Identification Cards when going for medical examination and treatment instead of Health Insurance Cards, exploiting the utility of the VssID application - Social Insurance Number; obligations and rights of participants when going for medical examination and treatment and enjoying Social Insurance and Health Insurance regimes.

The goal set on the launch day is to strive to increase 150 new people participating in voluntary social insurance and 300 people participating in health insurance.
