(ABO) On the morning of July 14, the Standing Committee of Go Cong Town Party Committee (Tien Giang Province) held the 13th Conference of the Town Party Executive Committee (expanded) to review and evaluate the results of leadership in implementing political tasks in the first 6 months of the year, and deploy directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2023.

According to the Go Cong Town Party Committee, in the first 6 months of 2023, the economic , social, defense and security sectors in the town were organized and achieved many important results. The economic structure shifted in the right direction.

Solutions to restructure the agricultural sector and convert crop structures have been implemented promptly, helping farmers feel secure and stabilize production. Cultural and social fields have seen positive developments.

Social security policies are deployed and implemented promptly, contributing to improving people's material and spiritual life.

Administrative reform and administrative procedure settlement continued to make progress and were increasingly improved; the work of receiving people, handling petitions, recommendations, complaints and denunciations was strengthened, promptly resolving people's reflections and recommendations, and preventing mass complaints and lawsuits from going beyond the level of authority.

The locality has implemented the Project to build 4 communes into wards and build Go Cong Town into Go Cong City according to the set plan.

Specifically, production value increased by 4.41% over the same period. The structure of production value of region I accounted for 32.89%; region II accounted for 31.72%; region III accounted for 35.39%.

Total state budget revenue was 111.92%, reaching 65.45% of the estimate. Total social investment capital was 2,074 billion VND, reaching 58.45% of the plan.

The natural population growth rate reached 0.8%; the health insurance coverage rate reached 91.99%; the rate of households using hygienic water in rural areas reached 100%; the rate of solid waste collected and treated in urban areas reached 99.88%; the rate of medical wastewater collected and treated reached 100%. The military recruitment target reached 100%...

Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Chi Trung said that Go Cong Town has paid great attention to consolidating and perfecting the work of organizing cadres to achieve higher efficiency.

Regarding some economic indicators, especially investment in basic construction works, the disbursement progress reached over 50%.

The town has done a good job of clearing and encroaching on the roadside, contributing to urban beautification; focusing on carrying out procedures, ensuring the time in the roadmap to build Go Cong town into a city by 2025.

In the coming time, the locality needs to review the targets of the term and 2023 to focus on leadership and direction with the highest determination, and have good and practical solutions to implement the low targets.
