Despite the absence of a series of key players Van Khang, Vi Hao, Thai Son, Ly Duc... joining the Vietnam team, coach Dinh Hong Vinh and his team entered the match very confidently. Overseas Vietnamese midfielder Viktor Le was in the starting lineup and played well alongside Van Truong, Quoc Viet, Nhat Minh, Van Binh, Xuan Bac... Facing a strong opponent in terms of physique and physical strength, the U.22 Vietnam team did not control the ball much but brought positive signals in terms of mentality and tactical awareness. Although we had less possession of the ball, we did not let the U.22 Korean team create many opportunities. Keeping a clean sheet after the first half helped the U.22 Vietnam team gain more confidence, taking the lead in the 51st minute thanks to Thanh Nhan's assist from Quoc Viet. After this goal, the Vietnamese players played very impressively, even surpassing the Korean team in terms of finishing shots. Unfortunately, we missed out on victory in the 90th minute after Jeong Jaesang equalized to tie the score 1-1.

Coach Dinh Hong Vinh said: "This is an important test for the U.22 Vietnam team. Regardless of the result, the important thing is that we had the opportunity to compete with quality opponents and learn valuable lessons. Today, the whole team played with good spirit, followed the set tactics, but there are still points that need to be improved to reach the long-term goal. I appreciate the efforts of the players. They showed solidarity, followed the tactics and were not afraid to collide with strong opponents. We will continue to analyze to help the players improve."

The U.22 Vietnam team will have its second match in China against U.22 Uzbekistan at 6:35 p.m. (Vietnam time) on March 23.
