Provincial People's Committee regular meeting in March

On April 3, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Xuan Anh chaired a regular meeting to assess the socio- economic situation in March and deploy key tasks for April 2025.

In March, closely following the leadership of the Government, the Prime Minister , the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee directed departments, branches, sectors, and People's Committees of districts and cities to resolutely, synchronously, and with focus and key tasks of socio-economic development to ensure the growth target assigned by the Central Government of 8% in 2025.

In terms of agricultural production, up to now, the whole province has planted 10,756.46 hectares of corn; 5,735.9 hectares of tobacco; 128 hectares of soybeans; 96 hectares of sugarcane. The total livestock herd is basically stable, the output of fresh meat for sale has increased compared to the same period last year. The work of moving livestock out from under the floors of houses has been done by 84/1,042 households, reaching 8.06% of the plan; the estimated output of aquatic products in the quarter is 160.06 tons; an increase of 0.39 tons compared to the same period last year.

Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, the whole province has 6 communes maintaining 19 criteria according to the New Rural Criteria for the period 2021 - 2025; 13 communes achieving 15 - 18 criteria; 57 communes achieving 10 - 14 criteria; 63 communes achieving 5 - 9 criteria; there are no more communes with less than 5 criteria. The OCOP product program continues to receive attention and direction from localities, currently there are 171 products achieving 4-star and 3-star OCOP. Total retail sales of goods and services in March are estimated at 1,036.58 billion VND, up 1.18% over the previous month, up 10.48% over the same period last year. It is estimated that in the first quarter of 2025, total retail sales of goods will reach 3,232.53 billion VND, up 9.99% over the same period last year, reaching 24.2% of the plan. Industrial production value is estimated at 771.82 billion VND, up 36.4% over the previous month, up 75.3% over the same period last year.

In the transport sector, freight revenue is estimated at 69.04 billion VND, down 4.7% over the same period last year. Total import-export turnover reached 153.596 million USD, down 20% over the same period in 2024. State budget revenue in the province reached 802.016 billion VND, equal to 41% of the central budget estimate, equal to 38% of the provincial People's Council budget estimate, up 114% over the same period in 2024. The whole province newly established 5 cooperatives, with a total registered capital of 7.8 billion VND.

As of March 15, the whole province disbursed 234,409 billion VND in public investment capital, reaching 5.1% of the plan. For the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway Construction Investment Project, the Provincial People's Committee organized the emulation movement "Completing the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) Expressway Construction Investment Project"; directed the implementation of project site clearance with high determination, up to now, 93.14 km/93.35 km, reaching 99.78% of the route length, have been handed over. Cultural and social fields were deployed promptly; education and training were given attention. National Target Programs were effectively implemented. Poverty reduction work was carried out well. Foreign affairs were promoted; national defense and security were ensured, and border security was maintained.
