(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On the morning of July 7th, VietinBank Insurance Company (VBI) Thanh Hoa, in coordination with VietinBank, held a ceremony to pay insurance benefits totaling over 1.7 billion VND to two customers who had purchased loan insurance products and unfortunately experienced risks during their work.

Mr. Pham Van Tai, residing in Dinh Tan commune, unfortunately suffered a serious accident while working, resulting in severe injuries and loss of mobility. According to Mr. Tai, at the end of 2024, his family borrowed money from the bank to expand their small business. However, the accident forced him to take extended leave for treatment, while his wife had just given birth, her job was unstable, and her income was almost nonexistent, leaving the family in an extremely difficult financial situation.

Previously, Mr. Tài had proactively purchased loan insurance from VBI Thanh Hóa. Upon learning of the incident, representatives from VBI Thanh Hóa and the VietinBank Yên Định branch visited, offered support, and guided the family in completing the necessary paperwork. After thoroughly assessing and verifying the information, VBI Thanh Hóa paid out the insurance benefits to Mr. Tài's family, totaling 1.088 billion VND.

At the ceremony, Mr. Tai emotionally shared: “Our family is deeply grateful for the attentive care and guidance from the bank staff and insurance company. In these difficult circumstances, this insurance payout has helped my family overcome financial pressure and provided us with more resources to treat illnesses and care for our young children.”

On the same day, VBI Thanh Hoa paid out a loan insurance benefit of 700 million VND to Mr. Le Van Nien, residing in Hoang Giang commune, who suffered a work-related accident. As the primary breadwinner of the family, the unexpected accident caused Mr. Nien to temporarily lose his income, while still having to bear many living expenses, medical treatment, and childcare costs. The timely support from the loan insurance has provided his family with additional resources to overcome this difficult period.

Mr. Le Van Nien shared his thoughts at the insurance benefit payment ceremony.

Mr. Nien shared: “The insurance money not only helps me cover immediate expenses, but also serves as a source of encouragement for me to continue treatment, recover my health, and take care of my family.”

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Dung, Director of VietinBank's Bac Thanh Hoa branch, said: “Risks in life are something no one wants. We believe that the insurance payout today will help our customers overcome this difficult period and stabilize their lives. This is also clear evidence of the humanitarian value of loan insurance – not only sharing the financial burden when unforeseen events occur, but also providing peace of mind and confidence for customers to continue developing their economy and improving their quality of life.”

With fees starting from just 0.55% and benefits up to 100% of the loan value, loan insurance is considered a practical solution to alleviate the financial burden on borrowers' families in the event of accidents or illnesses, thereby helping borrowers focus on business development and improving their living standards. Furthermore, this product is also a tool for risk management and credit security for banking institutions.

Nguyen Thi Lan, Deputy Director of VietinBank's Thanh Hoa branch, shared that she visited loan customers who had suffered work-related accidents.

Sharing further at the ceremony, Deputy Director of VietinBank Thanh Hoa branch, Nguyen Thi Lan, emphasized: “Loan insurance is not just a financial product, but also a ‘lifeline’ that helps customers confidently overcome unforeseen events. We believe that with the partnership of VietinBank and VBI, customers will have more support to confidently borrow capital, develop their businesses, and take care of their families.”
