A shopping festival showcasing signature products.

Now in its 11th year, Thanh Hoa province has organized a provincial-level event connecting supply and demand, introducing and promoting safe agricultural products and food. As usual, people in the province eagerly await this opportunity to shop for distinctive goods and high-quality produce. Businesses, cooperatives, and producers also see this as an ideal opportunity to introduce and promote their products.

In recent days, many people have flocked to Lam Son Square in Hac Thanh Ward to immerse themselves in the exhibition, presentation, and sale of agricultural products. Here, 300 kiosks have been provided for businesses to display and showcase their products. This year also features the largest number of stalls compared to the previous 10 editions.

According to observations, a new feature this year is that each sales area is clearly divided according to product category, such as an area for fish sauce and seafood, an area for teas and beverages, an area for medicinal herbs, and an area for handicrafts... All of this creates a space for exchanging and introducing goods with thousands of items. Most of the goods gathered here are OCOP products, characteristic products, and specialties from many localities in the province and other provinces and cities, with attractive labels and designs.

After purchasing quite a lot of goods, Ms. Le Thi Hai Yen from Hoang Tien commune shared: “My husband and I traveled nearly 20km to the fair, taking the opportunity to buy goods for the upcoming Lunar New Year. This is a good opportunity to buy many local products at once. We had to load the purchased goods onto the car three times.”

This year's fair, held from December 11th to 14th, coincided with the weekend, encouraging people to visit and shop. As a result, the crowds were very large, especially in the evenings. Lively music and free entertainment performances held next to the exhibition area added to the event's appeal.

At the booth representing Xuan Lap commune, Ms. Mai Thi Tu, owner of the Tu Chu rice flour cake production facility, along with local workers, were busily stirring dough, mixing fillings, and wrapping cakes to introduce and sell to customers. This is a signature product of the Xuan Lap countryside, recognized as a 3-star OCOP product since September 2023, and has become well-known to many people.

By directly observing the production process, many people stopped to experience and purchase the products, as they are not usually able to buy them on ordinary days.

According to Ms. Tú, “On the very first day of the fair, our establishment sold 4,000 cakes. We also just signed a contract to ship 1,000 cakes to Hanoi after customers visited the production facility and tasted the cakes here. That's the first positive result of our product promotion efforts. The number of buyers will certainly increase further on the weekend.”

Not only local products from the province, but also many producers from other provinces were invited to participate, creating a rich variety of goods and turning it into a festival for both shoppers and product promoters. Coming from Dai Phuc commune, Thai Nguyen province, Ngo Van Thuat, Director of Thu Thuat Tea Cooperative, was busy weighing tea and introducing his products. According to Mr. Thuat, "This year, Thai Nguyen province has two units participating in the fair in Thanh Hoa, both are traditional tea vendors. This is the second consecutive year I've participated with a booth in Thanh Hoa, and the number of buyers is quite high. I've also participated in many other provinces, but a fair with 300 booths like this one is rare."

Reportedly, this year's fair features participation from 221 units, organizations, and individuals within the province and from 23 provinces and cities nationwide. Many businesses in the province see this as an opportunity to introduce and develop markets for their products.

Thach Van Hieu, Director of Cu Nham Fish Sauce Company Limited in Tien Trang commune, said: “Every year participating in the fair, we gain more customers, becoming regulars. We just need to call and they'll deliver. The company sees this as an opportunity to continue expanding and developing. For example, at last year's exhibition, I sold nearly 100 million VND worth of goods.”

Thanks to exchanges, promotions, and provincial-level marketing activities, within the first two days of the event, 20 product supply contracts for 2026 were signed between participating units. Notable examples include Hiep Anh Seafood Processing Co., Ltd. (Tinh Gia ward) securing a supply contract with a Quang Ninh province enterprise; Lam Son Sugar Corporation securing a product distribution agreement for sugar, yellow melons, and other safe agricultural products through Co.opmart Thanh Hoa supermarket; Vinangon Specialty Co., Ltd. in Quang Phu ward securing a long-term supply contract for fermented pork sausage with Trung Thuc Sea Wolf Co., Ltd. in Hanoi; and Minh Dao Dung General Trading Co., Ltd. in the Northwest Industrial Zone successfully signing a contract to supply processed meat, poultry, and seafood products to LC FOODS Co., Ltd. in Ho Chi Minh City.

In conjunction with the fair, this year Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio and Television organized livestream sessions right at the fair to allow OCOP producers to introduce their goods through digital platforms. This helped producers secure more orders.
