TPO – Through the lens of photographers, this photo contest and exhibition introduces beautiful moments of Vietnamese birds and animals in their natural habitats to the public. Beyond the visual beauty, each image captured from various regions will tell a vivid story about these wild animals.
On October 12th, the awards ceremony and opening of the Vietnam Wildlife Photography Exhibition 2024 took place in Ho Chi Minh City.
This competition is organized by the Vietnam Wildlife Photography Club (VWPC) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association.
According to the organizers, over the past 10 years, wildlife photography, especially the photography of birds and mammals in Vietnam, has developed rapidly. Hundreds of photographers have been dedicated to capturing the beauty of wild birds and animals. Wildlife photography has been actively spreading love for nature and raising awareness within the community about the conservation of birds, animals, and their habitats.

The 2024 Vietnam Wildlife Photography Contest was launched with the goal of creating a truly beneficial, civilized, and friendly nature photography platform that fosters a connection between humans and nature, specifically showcasing the beauty of Vietnam's wildlife to a wide audience both domestically and internationally. It aims to inspire a love for nature and wildlife, while also promoting humanistic values, with the purpose of protecting, conserving, and developing wild animal and plant species.

With a launch period of only 45 days (from July 17th to August 30th), the competition received 402 entries from 117 authors. After the preliminary round, the judging panel selected 75 of the best photos from 45 authors to award prizes and be displayed in an exhibition.

At the awards ceremony, the organizers announced and awarded the first prize to the photograph of the Tonkin snub-nosed monkey by author Chung Van Thanh ( Ha Giang ).
According to the judging panel, this photograph was meticulously crafted and reflects the photographer's dedication, as capturing a picture of a snub-nosed monkey is no easy feat. This endemic primate species is now very rare and is being strictly protected to prevent extinction.

The judging panel also announced 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 4 consolation prizes, and other special awards such as the Most Impressive Photo, Best Photo of Endemic Birds, Best Photo of Migratory Birds Along the Coast, Best Photo of Endemic Animals , etc., for several other authors.
