Con Ba Cay Revolutionary Historical Site - "red address" educating patriotic traditions for the young generation.
At the Ba Cay Islet Relic Site, Hong Nhue Village, we met veteran Hoang Khac Vang, Thanh Tri Village - a person who has a deep understanding of the history of this place. Pointing to the relief depicting the battle of the self-defense soldiers who captured the district chief Pham Trung Bao and 12 security soldiers who were surrounded and captured by the Viet Minh army, Mr. Vang clearly told us that 80 years ago, here, implementing the directive "Japan - France shoot each other and our actions" on March 12, 1945 of the Central Party Standing Committee and the Directive of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, the Party cell and the Hoang Hoa Viet Minh Committee seized the opportunity, calling on all classes of people to rise up and seize power. From that call, many large rallies, demonstrations, and marches took place in the villages and communes, causing the enemy to be extremely confused and worried.
Faced with the rising revolutionary spirit in Hoang Hoa, on July 23, 1945, the Thanh Hoa Province Governor sent a security force of 34 soldiers led by Quan Hien to the provincial capital and the Hoang Hoa district governor to coordinate in terrorizing the revolutionary movement in Dang Trung (former Hoang Dao commune) and Lien Chau - Hoa Loc (former Hoang Chau commune), which they considered the "cradle" of the revolution.
Knowing the enemy's terrorist plot, under the direction of the Party cell and the Viet Minh Committee of the district, the district's self-defense force's combat plan was deployed on the night of July 23. In Dang Trung, a force of 12 soldiers ambushed Ma Nhon islet; in Lien Chau - Hoa Loc, the self-defense forces of Hoa Loc, Hai Chau, Hoang Chung, Ngoc Long villages and neighboring villages of Bai Trach commune arranged combat forces at road intersections, ready to fight the enemy.
On the morning of July 24, 1945, under the command of Quan Hien, 22 security soldiers fully equipped with weapons from the district office moved through Quang market and then straight on Ha Do road to Lien Chau - Hoa Loc (Hoang Chau). At around 10 am, when they arrived at Hoang Chung communal house, they gathered to consolidate their formation to attack Lien Chau - Hoa Loc. At this time, our militia surrounded the house, used loudspeakers to call on the enemy to surrender and charged into the communal house, used machetes to fight hand-to-hand, captured district chief Pham Trung Bao and 12 security soldiers.
At noon of the same day, the Party cell and the Hoang Hoa Viet Minh Committee organized a large-scale rally with nearly ten thousand people and self-defense forces participating at Con Ba Cay to celebrate the victory. The atmosphere of the rally was extremely exciting, the red flag with a yellow star was raised publicly for the first time on the land of Con Ba Cay.
With his heroic and profound voice, Mr. Vang's story becomes more attractive to young people. Nguyen Thi Huong Giang, a student of class 12A4, Hoang Hoa 4 High School, said: "I am very proud to be born and raised in the revolutionary homeland of Hoang Chau, which marked an important event in the August 1945 uprising in the old Hoang Hoa district. Following the tradition of my ancestors, I promise to try my best to study well and become a useful citizen for society."
As for the historical site of Lien Chau communal house, where many important events took place, on July 27, 1945, Viet Minh cadres met and announced the establishment of the National Liberation Committee of the commune and villages in the whole commune; abolishing the tax regime proposed by Japan and France. On August 15, 1945, the National Liberation Committee of the district established a civil court to try traitors, informants for the enemy and gangsters inside and outside the commune. To preserve and promote the value of the relic, on June 11, 1992, Lien Chau communal house was recognized as a national historical relic and has now been renovated and become a red address for the young generation.
80 years have passed, the names of the land and villages of some localities have changed. Although the names have changed, the revolutionary source is still contained and permeated in the land and people here. Coming to the "red addresses" in Hoang Chau commune these days, meeting and talking with the gentle and hospitable people, we understand more about the heroic history of the nation, feel more deeply the patriotism, heroic sacrifice and revolutionary will of previous generations.
Mr. Le Ngoc Hanh, Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Hoang Chau Commune, said: “Hoang Chau Commune is proud to be a locality with 8 historical and cultural revolutionary relics, of which 3 are ranked at the national level and 5 are at the provincial level. In recent times, the management, conservation and promotion of the value of historical relics have always been of interest to the Party Committee and the communal government, especially the work of preserving, exploiting and restoring, and preventing the degradation of ranked historical and cultural relics. In addition, Hoang Chau Commune has coordinated with organizations and units to organize many traditional education activities, tours and practical experience activities for students, youth and adolescents. Thereby, helping them better understand their origins, thereby enhancing their responsibility in preserving and promoting the cultural and historical revolutionary values of the locality”.
