In Resolution 60 of the 11th Conference of the 13th Central Executive Committee, the Central Committee planned to merge Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa provinces, named Khanh Hoa province, with the political and administrative center located in the current Khanh Hoa province.
After merging Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan, the new province will have the longest coastline and National Highway 1 in the country, thereby creating a lot of room for development.
The coastal route connecting Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan is about 120km long, starting from Nguyen Tat Thanh Avenue (Nha Trang City) to Phan Rang - Thap Cham City (Ninh Thuan).
From Nha Trang city, passing the winding Cu Hin pass about 8km long, you will travel on a road with many resorts and bungalows by Bai Dai beach.
On the route, there is also Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa with dozens of domestic and international flights every day, contributing to opening up socio-economic development prospects for Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan in particular, and the South Central and Central Highlands regions in general.
In addition, on the coastal route connecting these two provinces, Cam Ranh port is present, thus creating very good conditions for the development of the marine economy of the two provinces.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that after merging Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan, the new Khanh Hoa province will form the 3 largest centers of the country, which are the clean energy center, the marine economic center and the tourism center.
In particular, after the merger, the new Khanh Hoa province will have the longest coastline in the country with 490km, as well as the longest National Highway 1 with 210km. Therefore, the room for the province to develop in the future will be very open.
Khanh Hoa province leaders said that the coastal route connecting Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan is not simply a traffic connection between the two provinces, but this connection will bring many positive consequences, including tourism and economic development.
Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh - Director of Ninh Thuan Department of Construction analyzed that the province's planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, identifies the planning to focus on developing 3 corridors including expressways, coastal routes and expanding development along the East - West axis to create regional and inter-regional connections.
According to Mr. Vinh, the connection is expected to create a "boost" for the local socio-economic development, especially "awakening" hundreds of thousands of hectares of barren coastal land in the southern region.
