Invisible boundaries are scary because they cannot be seen with the naked eye and there is no way to cross them. They only grow larger and create certain barriers between people. That thought made her unconsciously look up at the man opposite her who was still looking at her intently. Every long second, the feeling of tension rose as the man spoke:

- Have you thought carefully?

As soon as she heard that, she quickly took out her pen and signed the divorce papers. Her family was her last limit. She looked at her hand with a white mark on her ring finger, the wedding ring had been removed. She quickly stirred her coffee cup, drank it all in one gulp, the bitter feeling on the tip of her tongue made her really sober. She liked coffee but since getting married, she had to give it up, even secretly drinking it when her husband - a dermatologist had a bad impression of it.

- You shouldn't drink like that. Coffee is not good for your skin. Besides, polite women should drink slowly... - the man said out of habit.

- Thank you for your time.

She quickly cut the man off and hurried out of the coffee shop, hailing a taxi to leave as quickly as possible. She laughed as she got into the car, suddenly realizing that she didn’t even have a motorbike to go anywhere. On her wedding day, she didn’t know that marriage was binding and that only one party had to give in, and that there were so many responsibilities and duties.

At first, that man truly loved her, since she was a nursing student who came to practice at the hospital where he was working. He gave her a certain amount of respect, although he was always strict. In return, he really cared about her shortcomings and helped her fix them. At that time, his handsomeness, wealth and status really softened her heart, especially when he was her first love and what he brought made her dream of beautiful love. When she finished her internship, he officially pursued her. That made her feel that he respected her and did not want to use the constraints of the internship on her. The age gap of seven years was not too far.

- You shouldn't drink too much coffee, it will keep you up late and give you bad skin, you should drink juice, it's good for your health...

For a girl, just receiving attention from her other half makes her feel very happy. That was the feeling of happiness before she realized that a man was gradually changing all the habits in her life, from the smallest things. When they were still in love, he was very gentle in all the advice he gave her. He often started with the sentence "I don't force you but..." and she often listened to him because she knew it was good for her.

He also cared a lot about her family. Although her family was not well off, whenever he had free time, he often visited her house and cooked with her family. He maintained a certain respect for her friends. He often took her to coffee dates with friends when he was not on duty. Over time, he was welcomed into her group of friends because he behaved as politely as possible. In particular, he loved his mother very much. His father died early, and his mother single-handedly raised him to study, so that he could have the career he has now.

After she graduated and became a nurse at the same hospital as him, they got married. On her wedding day, everyone was jealous of the long line of cars that welcomed the bride in the small neighborhood. The man in a smart suit with white glasses on the bridge of his nose politely greeted everyone, everyone praised the lucky little girl...

- On our wedding day, Mom said she would give us this house as a wedding gift. Mom had already transferred the house to Thang's name, now she should have done the paperwork to put both of our names on it, but the paperwork is complicated...

She still remembered clearly when her honeymoon had just ended, her mother-in-law told her that. At that time, she really didn't think much of it because anyone could have their name on the house, especially since it was his family's property. Her parents taught her not to be greedy for things that weren't hers.

After getting married, her mother-in-law lived with her and her husband even though he had previously said he would move out because "Mom is old, I don't feel safe living alone". Every day, the couple went to work and came home together, because they both worked administrative hours at the same hospital. The first few days were fine because they ate lunch at the cafeteria and when they came home, her mother-in-law had prepared food. Until her mother-in-law called her to talk privately:

- I'm old and can't cook for you forever. You should learn to cook.

She also thought it was the wife's responsibility, even though she and her husband went to and from work at the same time. During lunch break, she took the opportunity to go to the market near the hospital. In the afternoon, as soon as she got home, without having time to shower, she went into the kitchen to cook dinner and save it for lunch the next day for her mother-in-law. After dinner, she took a shower and then took the opportunity to clean up and do laundry until late at night when her husband and mother-in-law had turned off the lights and gone to bed.

Working at a private hospital was not tied to sudden shifts, and she and her husband both had weekends off. He still took her to coffee shops when her school friends gathered, but he absolutely did not want to go there like before. Many times when she told him to let her go by herself, he refused. Even without her consent, he sold her car because "Your car has been used for a long time, I will change it one day". But that day never came. The market she usually went to was near the hospital or near her house, and he let her walk, and every time she wanted to go out or go somewhere, it had to coincide with his day off. Her friends were jealous of her because her husband took her to and from work every day, but only she gradually realized that he was tying her down. The situation reached its peak when a young doctor came to her department to practice, and people sometimes joked about the two of them getting along, and it reached his ears.

- You quit your job.

He spoke coldly during dinner. His mother added:

- Mom's health is weak, you should stay home to take care of the house and also take care of her. Mom doesn't feel secure hiring a maid.

From then on, she began the life of a real wife, working hard every day to cook, clean and sweep. But she was a hard-working person so she didn't mind a word.

- Linh and Na, you two shouldn't play anymore. Unstable jobs make your awareness worse.

One day he said that to her surprise. They were two of her high school friends, one was a security guard, the other was a sanitation worker. She had not noticed the contemptuous look he gave them before. Even though her friends had never spoken or acted intimately with him.

During their three years of marriage, he did not let her visit home often. Sometimes, when they missed their daughter, her parents would take a bus to visit, but he would also tactfully tell her parents or tell her directly not to let them stay because his mother did not like outsiders staying in the house. Things reached a climax when, at the end of their fourth year of marriage, her father had an accident and had to be hospitalized for more than two weeks. During those two weeks, he never visited her once, he even just gave her money and said:

- I gave you money so you could hire a nurse for dad. I'm busy supporting the whole family. Why are you so selfish?

She stayed at the hospital to help her mother take care of her father, and had to run home to cook for her husband and mother-in-law because he said, "You should cook at home. Mom and I are not used to eating out." She gradually realized that he had taken away all her personal interests, friends, and even the ability to take care of her parents. She didn't know when she really had nothing left of her own.

- I let you decide again, without me, you have nothing.

He said that when she proposed divorce. He was right, he took everything from her, so what was left for her? But since she realized that, she was more certain of her departure. The way he contemptuously threw money at her father when he was hospitalized made her understand that she should start a new life. Her future without him had been so good...

***

After repeating her studies for a few years, she was accepted as a nurse at a small private hospital. She started a new life, at least her own. Everyone has had a breakup, sometimes it will become an indelible pain, an unforgettable scar. But sometimes, because of the scars, people know that they should have a better new start from the past.
