Vietnam wishes to strengthen cooperation with the Francophone Parliamentary Union.

The President of the Francophone Parliamentary Union (APF) acknowledged and appreciated the active participation and contributions of the Vietnamese National Assembly in the common work of APF.

On February 22, at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations in New York, USA, Ambassador, Head of the Delegation Dang Hoang Giang had a meeting with Mr. Francis Drouin, President of APF to discuss the cooperation between APF and Vietnam in recent times and directions to promote APF to strengthen its cooperative relationship with the United Nations. Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang highly appreciated the cooperative activities between APF and the National Assembly of Vietnam in recent times, hoping that the two sides would continue to exchange and cooperate multilaterally on issues of mutual concern, contributing to strengthening the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and APF. The Ambassador said that the cooperation and dialogue between the two sides will help APF have more opportunities to participate in the work of the United Nations, contributing to the efforts to find solutions to global challenges, towards peace, stability and development cooperation. Mr. Francis Drouin acknowledged and appreciated the active participation and contributions of the Vietnamese National Assembly in the common work of APF through taking on many important responsibilities such as Vice President, member of the Executive Council of the Network of Women Parliamentarians and Head of the Asia- Pacific region from 2015 to present. The APF President hopes to continue to receive the support and close cooperation of Vietnam in implementing APF activities in the coming time./.
