Vietnam wishes to strengthen cooperation with the Francophone Parliamentary Union.

The President of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly (APF) acknowledged and highly appreciated the active participation and contributions of the Vietnamese National Assembly to the common work of the APF.

On February 22nd, at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations in New York, USA, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of Mission, held a working meeting with Mr. Francis Drouin, Chairman of the APF, to discuss cooperation between the APF and Vietnam in the past and directions for promoting the APF's enhanced cooperation with the United Nations. Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang highly appreciated the cooperation activities between the APF and the Vietnamese National Assembly in the past, and expressed his desire for both sides to continue multilateral exchanges and cooperation on issues of mutual interest, contributing to strengthening the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and the APF. The Ambassador believed that the cooperation and dialogue between the two sides would give the APF more opportunities to participate in the work of the United Nations, contributing to efforts to find solutions to global challenges, towards peace, stability, and cooperative development. Mr. Francis Drouin acknowledged and highly appreciated the active participation and contributions of the Vietnamese National Assembly to the common work of the APF through its undertaking of many important responsibilities such as Vice-Chair, member of the Executive Council of the Women Parliamentarians Network, and Head of the Asia -Pacific region from 2015 to the present. The APF Chairman expressed his hope to continue receiving the support and close cooperation of Vietnam in implementing APF activities in the future.
