On November 18, Vietjet Air sent a document to the Southern Airport Authority in Con Dao and Con Dao Airport announcing the resumption of flights connecting to Con Dao Airport (VCS).

According to the plan, from November 25, the airline will put into operation 4 planes to exploit two routes Hanoi - Con Dao and Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao, with a frequency of 1 flight per direction/day.

Currently, there are only VASCO planes (member of Vietnam Airlines ) flying on the Con Dao - Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho routes.

On December 15, Vietjet Air continued to arrange 4 more planes, thereby doubling the frequency of passenger service on these two key routes.

Previously, from April 2025, Vietjet Air operated direct flights between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao. However, by mid-October 2025, the airline temporarily stopped operating, forcing visitors from the North who wanted to go to Con Dao to have to transfer to Ho Chi Minh City or Can Tho before flying to the island.

Currently, only VASCO (a member of Vietnam Airlines) operates direct flights to Con Dao from Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho, using ATR-72 aircraft.

Restoring two direct flights gives passengers more convenient travel options, shortens travel time and reduces costs compared to connecting flights.

This is also a timely move in the context that Con Dao is about to enter the peak tourist season at the end of the year, and travel demand is expected to increase sharply.
