Vietnam Airlines adjusts flight routes to Europe to avoid Pakistani airspace

According to information from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, the temporary closure of airspace will begin at 2:55 a.m. on May 7 (Vietnam time). Therefore, on May 7, some flights have changed their routes to avoid flying over Pakistani airspace.

Flights that had to change their routes include: VN36, VN37 between Hanoi and Frankfurt; VN30, VN31 between Ho Chi Minh City and Frankfurt; VN10, VN11 between Ho Chi Minh City and Paris; VN18, VN19 between Hanoi and Paris; VN50 from London to Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam Airlines said that in the coming time, flights between Vietnam and Europe may continue to be adjusted depending on the situation in the region. The airline is closely monitoring updates from authorities and will promptly inform passengers if there are any changes related to the flight itinerary.

The airline representative said that adjusting the flight route could extend the flight time and incur additional operating costs. However, adjusting the flight route is necessary to ensure absolute safety for passengers, crew and flights – a principle that the airline always puts first.
