VNPT affirms its leading role as a pioneering technology corporation

VNPT needs to make a breakthrough and accelerate more strongly, contributing significantly and practically to the successful implementation of the growth target of over 8% in 2025, as well as double-digit growth in the coming time of the country.

Over two days (May 25 and 26), in Hanoi, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group ( VNPT ) successfully held the 25th Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term with the participation of 219 delegates representing the intelligence, unity of will and solidarity of nearly 4,000 Party members. This is a model congress of the Government Party Committee. Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh attended and directed the congress.

The report at the congress said that in the 2020-2025 term, with the spirit of "VNPT - Solidarity, unity, responsibility", the VNPT Party Committee has focused on innovating operations; perfecting the economic management mechanism system; improving the overall operational efficiency, successfully completing the Resolution of the 24th VNPT Party Congress. The important targets on production and business of VNPT set out in the Resolution of the 24th Congress have been exceeded.

Specifically, completing the target on average revenue growth rate for the period 2020-2025; exceeding the annual profit target assigned by the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises: 109.9% in 2020, 104.4% in 2021 (excluding VND 400 billion in support of Covid-19), 108.5% in 2022, 105.3% in 2023, 114.2% in 2024; completing the target on the return on equity ratio assigned annually; exceeding the target on payment to the State budget;...

Regarding Party building work, nearly 90% of grassroots party organizations completed their tasks well, reaching 112% of the set target; the percentage of party members completing their tasks well reached 98.6%, reaching 104% of the set target; 885 new party members were admitted, reaching 177% of the admission target of the term.

Under the comprehensive and drastic leadership and direction of the Party Committee of the Group for the 2020-2025 term, VNPT has successfully implemented many core IT projects for the Government, ministries, branches and localities.

Specifically, VNPT has deployed 11 platforms and 6 national-scale databases; deployed intelligent operations centers (IOCs) in 47 provinces and cities; deployed many digital transformation solutions in 63 provinces and cities, 15 ministries, branches and enterprises; signed telecommunications and IT cooperation agreements with 58/63 provinces and cities;... Through these projects, VNPT has affirmed its leading and key role in building and providing digital solutions for government agencies and state-owned enterprises.

In the 2025-2030 term, with the slogan of action "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", the Party Committee of VNPT Group sets the goal: "Strongly innovate leadership methods, build a clean and strong Party Committee of the Group in all aspects; make breakthroughs in business development; affirm the leading role of a pioneering technology group, accompanying the country in the digital age". At the same time, set specific targets: Complete the revenue growth target assigned by the Prime Minister in the Development Strategy to 2030, vision 2035; strive for revenue targets, especially strategic service revenue during the term to closely follow the country's GDP growth; complete profit targets, ROE targets and total budget contribution assigned by the owner agency; strive to achieve over 80% of party organizations being classified as having completed their tasks well or better and 95% of party members being classified as having completed their tasks well or better; admit 600 or more new party members.

Speaking at the congress, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh stated that the international context as well as the country's reality are creating enormous challenges but at the same time opening up opportunities for breakthrough development. Therefore, to turn challenges into opportunities, it requires Party committees at all levels, cadres, Party members and employees of VNPT Group to continue to enhance political determination, make more efforts in action, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility; think deeply, do big. Must continue to promote the role of a key State economic group in telecommunications and information technology; a pillar and pioneer in national digital transformation.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh noted that VNPT needs to make further breakthroughs in business development. The Group needs to closely follow the resolutions and policies of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the direction of the Party Committee, the Government, and the Prime Minister to conduct a comprehensive review and assessment of the goals, tasks, and solutions set out in the development plan for the 2025-2030 term in order to identify further breakthroughs and accelerate business development; making an important and practical contribution to the successful implementation of the country's target of over 8% growth in 2025 as well as double-digit growth in the coming time.

VNPT needs to have solutions to unlock resources, promote research and master science and technology; use innovation to create momentum for breakthrough development and participate deeply and effectively in the national digital transformation; take the lead in implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthrough development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. The Group needs to closely follow the content of the Resolution, participate effectively, and identify this as both a political task and an opportunity for VNPT to affirm its role and position in the era of national development.

The 25th Congress of the Party Committee of VNPT Group elected the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Group for the 2025-2030 term with 31 members. Comrade To Dung Thai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group, was elected by the congress as Secretary of the Party Committee of VNPT Group for the 2025-2030 term.
