At the Asian level club tournament, AVC Champions League, last April, VTV Binh Dien Long An reached the semi-finals and finished as runners-up. This helped them win a place at the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Club World Championship.
This is a rare opportunity for a Vietnamese team to compete and compete with the world's top teams. However, VTV Binh Dien Long An was forced to withdraw due to the difficulties the club encountered.
The Women’s Club Volleyball World Cup takes place from December 9 to 14, coinciding with the SEA Games. That is the time when VTV Binh Dien Long An does not have the best squad because they have to serve the national team.
Athletes including Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Dang Thi Kim Thanh, Le Nhu Anh and coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa are on the list of summoned athletes.
These are all key members of VTV Binh Dien Long An, so their absence leaves a lot of gaps. Promoting young athletes to participate in the world championship cannot be considered a suitable solution against very strong opponents from Brazil or Italy.
Therefore, after agreeing with the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and the World Volleyball Federation, the Western team decided to withdraw.
The 2025 Women's Club Volleyball World Cup will take place from December 9 to 14 in Brazil. There are currently 7 teams that have qualified to participate: Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde (Brazil, host), Prosecco DOC Imoco Volley Conegliano, Savino Del Bene Scandicci (Italy), Dentil Praia Clube (Brazil), Club Alianza Lima (Peru), Zamalek Sporting Club (Egypt), Zhetysu VC (Kazakhstan).
It is known that FIVB sent an invitation to Thailand's top club Nakhon Ratchasima QminC. However, due to the urgent time and lack of preparation, this team had to decline.
