Badminton Vietnam takes to the field SEA Games 32 on the morning of December 7, competing in the women's team event. In this match, the Vietnamese women's badminton team lost 1-3 to Malaysia. Nguyen Thuy Linh was the only one to win 2-1 against Karupathevan Letshanaa (number 1 player of the Malaysian women's team, ranked 42nd in the world ).

The referee made 4-5 incorrect calls.

Meanwhile, Vu Thi Trang, the pair Tran Thi Dieu Ly - Pham Thi Khanh, Bui Bich Phuong lost 1-2, 0-2 and 0-2 respectively. Vu Thi Trang's loss was perhaps the most regrettable. After losing the first set (14/21), Nguyen Tien Minh's wife saved the "set point" and won the second set dramatically (22/20). In the third set, Vu Thi Trang lost 14/21 and was defeated 1-2 by Ling Ching Wong (number 2 player of the Malaysian women's team, ranked 44th in the world). Notably, in this match, the referee repeatedly made decisions that were not favorable to the Vietnamese player.

Head coach of the Vietnamese badminton team, Ngo Trung Dung, shared after the match: "Thuy Linh played well in the first match, and as seen, Vu Thi Trang also tried very hard in the second match. Trang lost quite regrettably. In fact, in that match, there were many times when the referee made inaccurate decisions, at least 4 to 5 situations that caused Trang to lose points."

Previously, Nguyen Thuy Linh also complained that the referee was biased towards the opponent, in the opening match, winning 2-1 against Karupathevan Letshanaa.

"Today, the Vietnamese athletes also competed relatively well, although unfortunately, one athlete was injured. Phuong Thuy was expected to play the third women's singles match, but she was injured in the previous practice session so she could not play today. That was one of the team's biggest disadvantages. Although we did not win against Malaysia and did not create any surprises, the Vietnamese athletes played their best," added coach Trung Dung.
