Previously, on January 30th, H.X.N. was rushed to the Provincial General Hospital by her family in critical condition. Examination revealed that N. was suffering from septic shock, pericarditis, and pleurisy due to Staphylococcus aureus, complicated by multiple organ failure. This is a severe infectious disease with damage to multiple organs and a very high risk of death.
According to Dr. Le Phuoc Duc, Deputy Head of the Intensive Care and Toxicology Department at the Provincial General Hospital, the unit applied continuous hemodialysis and plasma exchange techniques to the patient in this case. After 65 days of treatment, including 10 days of hemodialysis and plasma exchange, and more than a month on a ventilator, the patient's organ functions fully recovered.
In particular, during her hospital stay, patient H.XN, a member of an ethnic minority group from a very disadvantaged family, faced significant financial difficulties due to the long duration of treatment. Therefore, to support N., the medical team of the Intensive Care and Toxicology Unit, in addition to their professional work and dedicated treatment, appealed for and mobilized support from within the unit and the community, raising approximately 10 million VND to assist the patient's family.
