On the morning of December 14th, Phuc Hung General Hospital in Quang Ngai province reported that it continues to receive many patients admitted for emergency treatment due to symptoms of vomiting, abdominal pain, and persistent diarrhea. The patients stated that they had previously eaten HV bread.
Bringing his wife and two children straight to the emergency room at Phuc Hung Hospital, Mr. Trinh said that on the afternoon of December 11th, his wife bought three loaves of HV bread from a vendor on Hung Vuong Street, Nghia Lo Ward, and ate them. By the morning of December 12th, she had stomach pain and diarrhea.
"At noon on December 12th, I had to pick my children up from school because of severe stomach pain. At first, I thought it was just a common aches and treated it at home, but the symptoms worsened, and I had to be hospitalized this morning," Mr. Trinh said.
Another family member brought three relatives to the emergency department of Phuc Hung Hospital and said that all three had eaten HV bread at a stall in the Ngoc Bao Vien urban area. They all shared the same symptoms of severe abdominal pain and persistent diarrhea.
Similarly, patient Do Thi T. was admitted to the emergency room with vomiting and exhaustion. Her family reported that she had bought HV bread at a stall at the intersection of Hai Ba Trung and Pham Quang Anh streets and eaten it on the morning of December 13th, experiencing severe abdominal pain that evening.
"This morning I took my wife to the hospital because she was visibly exhausted and her abdominal pain had worsened," said Ms. T.'s husband.
Currently, the Internal Medicine Department of Phuc Hung Hospital is receiving a large number of patients suffering from food poisoning related to eating HV bread.
Ms. D, who is currently receiving treatment in the ward, recounted: "I bought HV bread on Nguyen Nghiem Street, then I, my child, and two other people ate it. Only one person didn't get food poisoning because they didn't eat the sausage."
Ms. YT bought HV bread at a stall at the intersection of Quang Trung and Le Thanh Ton streets on the morning of December 12th and ate it around 9 am that same day. By the afternoon of December 12th, she experienced severe abdominal pain but initially thought it was just a stomach ache. By the morning of December 13th, her condition worsened, with vomiting, diarrhea, and intense abdominal pain. On the evening of December 13th, her relatives took her to the Internal Medicine Department of Phuc Hung Hospital for treatment with symptoms of fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Doctors informed her that she had severe food poisoning.
"This morning, a representative from the Department of Health came to my ward to ask me about it. I told them that I had bought and eaten HV bread and that I had the symptoms I described upon admission. At that time, I was very tired and needed to be rehydrated, given electrolytes, and given antibiotics to lower my fever," Ms. T. said.

According to Phuc Hung Hospital, there are currently no official statistics on the number of patients admitted who reported having eaten HV bread, but it is estimated that about 30 people were admitted on the morning of December 14th.
Mr. Do Ngoc Hoa, Deputy Director of the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Health, said that relevant units are urgently collecting food samples and speaking with patients to clarify this food poisoning incident.
