At the program, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 organized a screening of the propaganda film "Mock Trial" - a typical criminal case on illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing; propagandized and disseminated regulations on combating IUU fishing, the Fisheries Law, the Vietnam Coast Guard Law... to delegates who are civil servants, public employees, members, fishing boat owners and fishermen in the area.
The Coast Guard also distributed more than 300 leaflets, 200 propaganda handbooks and 250 law books to help fishermen grasp the regulations when going out to sea; coordinated with the Lao Dong Newspaper to present 300 national flags, 30 photos of Uncle Ho and 30 medical bags to fishing vessels.
Along with that, the unit awarded 30 gifts (1 million VND/gift) to poor households, near-poor households, and fishermen in difficult circumstances.

On this occasion, the Youth Union of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command and the Ha Tien Ward Youth Union also organized a general cleaning of the marine environment, collecting more than 1.5 tons of various types of waste and bringing them to the treatment site.
Speaking at the program, Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, said that the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" is a major activity, demonstrating the political responsibility of the Vietnam Coast Guard towards the people, especially fishermen - those who work day and night at sea, contributing to protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
“We hope that fishermen will continue to promote their patriotic tradition, raise their vigilance, strictly abide by the law, become living landmarks at sea, and contribute with the Vietnam Coast Guard to build an increasingly solid national defense posture and people's security posture at sea,” Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong emphasized.
