Thanh Phuoc Commune: Celebrating the longevity of 307 elderly people

On May 13, the Association of the Elderly (NCT) of Thanh Phuoc commune, Go Dau district, held a longevity celebration and gave gifts to 307 elderly people in the area.

Mr. Le Van Toi - Chairman of the Commune Elderly Association presented longevity greeting cards and gifts to the elderly.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Toi - Chairman of the Thanh Phuoc Commune Elderly Association reviewed the significance of celebrating longevity and wishing longevity to the elderly. The leaders of the Commune People's Committee presented certificates and gifts from the Vietnam Elderly Association to 307 men and women aged 70 to 95, with a total value of more than 200 million VND.

In recent years, the Thanh Phuoc Commune Elderly Association has mobilized nearly 10 billion VND from benefactors to help the elderly in difficult circumstances such as: building shelters for the elderly in difficult circumstances, donating cows for breeding, wheelchairs for the disabled elderly and granting scholarships to poor and studious students. In particular, the Commune Elderly Association has also coordinated to organize free eye surgeries to bring light to nearly 2,000 elderly in difficult circumstances.
