In line with the provisions of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment 2023, Tay Ninh province has recently proactively reviewed and reclassified the healthcare system into 3 levels of technical expertise: initial, basic and specialized. In particular, Long An General Hospital is identified as a final-level hospital, playing a central role in receiving and treating cases beyond the professional capacity of lower-level hospitals and medical centers. Therefore, Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Health to increase investment in Long An General Hospital, helping the hospital deploy many specialized techniques equivalent to the central level.
Along with investing in infrastructure, the province also pays special attention to developing specialized medical human resources. Specifically, it strengthens training and fostering of doctors, technicians, nurses, etc.; effectively implements policies to attract talents in the medical field, in order to fill the gap of high-quality human resources, especially in endoscopic surgery, advanced emergency resuscitation, specialized testing, blood filtration, hemodialysis, etc.
From 2022 to present, Tay Ninh province has allocated more than 265 billion VND to invest in construction, upgrading medical facilities and purchasing equipment: In 2022, investing more than 63.9 billion VND; in 2023 investing more than 50.5 billion VND; in 2024 investing more than 150.7 billion VND to purchase modern equipment, such as 4D ultrasound machines, automatic biochemical - immunological testing machines, CT scanners, hemodialysis machines... contributing to improving the effectiveness of treatment and early detection of dangerous diseases. In the period of 2025-2026, the province continues to allocate more than 85 billion VND to invest in medical equipment, prioritizing equipment for medical examination and treatment at lower levels and upgrading treatment capacity for medical centers in remote areas.
In addition, in order to maximize investment efficiency and improve the quality of health services, the province also creates favorable conditions for the private health system to develop strongly. Currently, many private clinics and hospitals have been established with modern equipment, contributing to sharing the burden with public health, while providing more service options for people. In particular, the public-private partnership model in medical examination and treatment is encouraged to be implemented, helping to strengthen connections, share resources and experiences among health units.
Faced with the reality of increasing and diverse healthcare needs, while budget resources are limited, the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province has assigned the Department of Health to coordinate with relevant sectors to review and propose a reasonable investment roadmap with focus and key points, ensuring efficiency and sustainability in the development of the healthcare system.
