On November 1, at Dai An Kindergarten (facilities 1 and 2 in Dai Loc commune), floodwaters receded, the school grounds were submerged in a thick layer of mud, tables, chairs, and toys were severely damaged, many walls were mottled, and the school yard was covered with trash and tree branches.
As soon as the flood receded, dozens of school teachers quickly arrived to check, clean up, and overcome the consequences.

Ms. Tuong Vi, a teacher at Dai An Kindergarten, Campus 2, said that the floodwaters rose to nearly 2 meters. Fortunately, the school’s important equipment and students’ books had been moved to higher ground, avoiding damage. However, many plywood toys, tables and chairs, and other learning equipment were damaged, many of which were swept away.
"This is the second day the teachers have been cleaning up. Although they are tired, everyone is trying their best, just hoping to welcome the children back to class soon," said Ms. Vy.

To support the school, local soldiers and militia were also present, bringing hoes, shovels, pumps and water hoses to help clean up. They took turns sweeping the schoolyard, carrying each bookshelf, wiping each window frame, and repainting the mud-covered walls.
According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hung, Platoon Leader of the Dai Loc Commune Militia Platoon, to support overcoming the consequences of the flood, the unit mobilized 120 soldiers to coordinate with 130 soldiers from the Military School of Military Region 5 to distribute to schools in the commune, helping the school community to urgently clean up and bring students back to school soon.

“Although everyone is tired from fighting the floods for many days, we still try our best, each person contributes a hand, to help the school and people overcome the consequences of the floods,” said Mr. Phan Thanh Hung.
